Smile Require new Graphic card.

Hello Ppl,
I want to buy a new graphic card but not without valuable information.
My pc config : 1) Gigabyte Mobo GCMX-S2 (E6550 Core 2 duo)2.33ghz
2) 2 gb DDR2 ram (667 mhz)
3) 1 pci-e slot
4) 22" lcd monitor
5) Win XP SP3
6) 500 gb sata and dvd writer
7) with 400W PSU

I searched for cards i came up with 2 options :
1) HD 4670 1gb (Sapphire/MSI/Powercolor)
2) HD 4850 512 mb

My question is:
1) If i go for HD 4670 which one should i go for i mean 512 or 1gb.
If i take 512 mb card will it give me good performance on 22"lcd or i shd take 1 gb card.
also whats the difference between HD 4670 ddr3 & HD 4670 ddr4 which one shd i go for.
I know brand will hardly make a difference but so far i got good reviews for sapphire which one all of u suggest.

2) same question goes for HD 4850 but will HD 4850 work with 400W PSU i know it requires 6 pin pci-e connector.

Everyone plz help me out.
Thx in advance.

1st answer:-
According to ur budget either go for a 512MB or 1GB card.ya ofcourse if u r an extreme gamer or just a gamer then go for 1GB card.

2nd answer:-
same as above!

and ya if ur budget is 7-8k then go for NVIDIA 9800GT.It is a great gaming card.

Hi

If you are Extreme Gamer, Power User, Multimedia Enthusiast then please consider these nVIDIA Graphic Cards

1. GeForce GTX 275 896 MB with GeForce 3D Vision Ready
2. GeForce GTX 285 1GB with GeForce 3D Vision Ready
3. GeForce GTX 295 1792 MB with GeForce 3D Vision Ready (480 processor cores)

but if you need this card just for normal gaming then you can pick anyone of these
GeForce 9800 GT, GeForce 9600 GT, GeForce GTS 250, GeForce 9400 GT all of these are 512MB graphic cards

and when it comes to graphic cards, i trust nvidia as they make best graphic cards and motherboards for gaming.

I ll say you go for 1Gb if you can afford it .... it ll extend the life of your card i.e there will come a time when games will require 512MB Gfx card as min req (its already 256mb for many games) at that time the extra memory will help

ddr4 is faster ,

With less than 2 weeks away from DX11 cards, its best that you wait. 2 reasons.
DX11 cards will become standard soon, hence you can jump on to those and skip DX10/10.1.
Else, the DX10/10.1 cards will be/should be a lot cheaper after the release of Dx11 cards. many people will sell their cards too so you can get a good card at lower prices too.

PS: ATI will release DX11 cards (4 cards i think) on sept 10. They should be available soon after that.

the nvidia 200 series is not good at the 8k range, pass it.

The DX11 cards will work on you PC as long as you have a PCI express slot.

If you need more help, please PM me.

Just one thing you have to change for dx compatibility!
Windows
You have Windows XP SP3 and as far as i don't think that it has dx11 compatibility.(dx10 is made for XP on which a very few games will not run)

Wait for windows 7 and upgrade to it.it has dx11 compatibility.

If you don't want to waste it, just don't go for upgradation. No one has compelled you to upgrade. has anybody?

You can't upgrade like that from XP. You need to buy a new copy of windows 7. So yes, they will get wasted.

ATI Cards are superior than NVidia. But NVidia are cheaper for the same range.

See my review on prices and features: http://www.indiabroadband.net/comput...-analyzed.html (Some Graphics Cards analyzed)

Antec is probably the best when it comes to SMPS. For high power graphics card a minimum of 500W SMPS is suggested. I will recommend Antec Basiq 500W Continuous Power Power Supply.

Also if you are using a UPS, make sure that it is sufficient to power the system.

You can get a corsair 400W or a 450W one. Antec is a little hard to find here (at least in bangalore)
