Default All Intel Core 2 Duo CPU

aaah !!!! i came to know yesterday that all Intel Core 2 Duo CPU are 64 bit.
And i was shocked after knowing this from a friend when we were talking about Windows 7.

just wanted to share this with you all incase there are people like me who are unaware of this.

If you are using Vista or Windows 7,
Can my computer run a 64-bit version of Windows?

To run a 64-bit version of Windows, your computer must have a 64-bit-capable processor. If you are unsure whether your processor is 64-bit-capable, do the following:

1.Open Performance Information and Tools by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type Performance Information and Tools, and then, in the list of results, click Performance Information and Tools.

2.Click View and print detailed performance and system information.

I will wait for the OS price to drop slightly before going for the upgrade.

With 32-bit Windows, you're stuck at 4GB of RAM, and even then, you're only using about 3.3GB of it, give or take. With 64-bit, 4GB of RAM is the new minimum standard, and with 4GB, you can run tons of applications with zero slowdown.

You can install windows 7 64-bit on system with 2 GB RAM and Core2Duo CPU with no issues. All 32 bit applications will run on 64-bit except drivers.

64-bit is more stable and can address more registers

    Download Windows7UpgradeAdvisorSetup
    http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...visorSetup.exe

It will give report of how windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit will perform on you system and will point out any issues with new OS.

I got windows 7 before launch date at least 30 days before but i have not installed it( & will not probably). I got it because I am an msdnaa member.

    Though mine is original.

No, msdnaa member ship cost & msdnaa is microsoft initiative for student & there is msdn for developer. Msdnaa membership license is bought by an institue. In my case it was by an organisation I have joined whose paid member I am.( IEEE computer society). I don't have to pay to download any microsoft software as they are free for students & developer. & are available before they are available for general public.

Check this out:http://www.indiabroadband.net/window...ions-them.html (What is MSDN/MSDNAA & what you get when you have subscriptions in them?)

History is on the move,my friends. Those who cannot keep up will be left behind, to watch from distance. And those who stand in its way will not watch at all.http://windows7sins.org/
People are going to tell stories about me none of which change who I really am.

Is there any IEEE student branch in your institute? Any student member of it automatically becomes msdnaa member for free.

PS: My college have one & i am its member i have to pay 25$ annually( cost is going to be 35$ this year). There are other benefits of being IEEE member. Going to sleep will talk in detail morrow at 9/10 here.
