    Default Logitech G27 Racing wheel

Logitech has just launched its G27 racing wheel in India.

The G27 racing wheel has the following features:

    • Six-speed shifter: This feature takes the gaming experience to a real new level. 5-forward gears (and 1-reverse gear) means that the gamer can choose the correct gear for the straights or corners. And the reverse gear makes the reverse/back-up action extremely realistic.
    • Dual-motor force feedback: With this feature the racing wheel gives awesome feedback such as traction loss, weight shift, and road feel, etc. The feedback is recreated smoothly and accurately. You can really feel it.
    • RPM/shift indicator LEDs: Since it does not have real dials/guages to display speed, RPM, gear (maybe in the version?), the LEDs indicate the same. Will allow the driver the indication when to switch the gears, preventing the engine from revving up too high.
    • Steel gas, brake, and clutch pedals: Need I say more? These pedals make you feel that you are driving a real NASCAR.
    • 16 programmable buttons plus D-pad: Don't know much about this but what this allows is mapping of useful game functions to locations/buttons that suits the gamer. Much like the electronic controls one sees on F1 car steering wheels.
    Other features include:
    • Leather covered steering
    • Grips for floor carpet
    • Installation hard-points to allow fixing the whole unit correctly to a wooden surface, table, etc.
One can also purchase an optional playseat to make it really look like a car game that one sees in a gaming arcade.

The cost of the racing wheel in India is Rs. 25,000/-.

I had tried it at a store in dubai, the force feedback is really awesome. You can feel the bumps on the track and when you take fast and slow turns, you can really get the feel of it.

With a price of 25k, you need rich parents :P
