Default Network Hub / LAN Hub

    Hello,
We have a BSNL broadband connection. There are 5 people in our room and we want to share this connection. We have a Type 1 modem. It has one USB and one LAN. That's it. To make this sharing possible I want a LAN/Network Hub, so that all 5 of us can access internet simultaneously.
Is this set-up possible/viable? If yes, what is the cost of such a 4 or 5 port hub?

    ( BSNL price Rs 1800/= rental Rs 80/= P.M)
or buy netgear wgr614 v9 for about Rs 1500/=

You can buy any standard network hub/switch and use it to connect. Wired hub will be cheap. Wireless will be expensive.

No, everybody uses Windows XP. Two desktops and three laptops. Only laptops have WLAN.

    Thank you.
