Graphics card!

I want to purchase a new 1 gb graphics card for following config :

processor : core2duo
M/Board : p4 intel / AMD
RAM : 2 gb ddr2
HDD : 250GB sata

Pls suggest.

buddy, i don't think that your core2duo will work on AMD Motherboard and i think better you should go for ddr3 rams, more. . . . . . what is your budget for c.p.u. ?

hey, actually someone else is suppose to buy a 1 gb graphics card and he has asked for my suggestion. I am not aware of his exact configuration, I just know that the system was bought around 2 yrs ago.
So pls ignore the config and pls just suggest me reliable brands for 1 gb graphics card including the prices.

Yeah, i cannot help u with that then,i m sorry, the system is 2 years old i doubt my suggestions could fit in the motherboard. . .if u will be more specific with the motherboard(model no. Etc), i will try then. . .anyway Here are two suggestions anyway one from NVIDIA and one from ATI. . I cannot say whether they support your motherboard or not. . .

Requirement - 1 GB graphics card
Tell me also that whether the existing graphics card have to be replaced or it can remain there?
The mechanic is ready to buy the existing one at Rs.500. Is it advisable?
