    Default Best usb bluetooth adapter

    Friends,
I want to purchase a branded usb bluetooth adapter for my win7 64bit pc.I have sorted out Asus usb-BT211 mini bluetooth dongle but at present it is not available in the market in mumbai and it is very costly too.Pl.let me know if it is compatible with win7 ultimate 64bit.Pl.suggest any other branded adapter with a good software as software provided with them is generally a trial version.

I have Belkin BlueTooth adapter. Works well. I seldom use it now as laptop is equipped with BT.

Gee. I do not remember the price. I purchased it long ago - in 2003, I think. Maybe it was around GBP 35. The adapter came with a software CD (from Belkin).

Dongle ... adapter ... etc. Mean the same thing. Basically the BT dongle/adapter looks very much like the 2G/3G datacard dongles.

In 2003/4, bluetooth was quite in vogue (if not in rage) - there were host of BT devices such as BT keyboards, BT mice, BT speakers, etc. Then RF tookover. Nowadays, BT is almost out of fashion except for headsets for mobiles.

The dongles were created for old desktops/laptops that did not have built-in bluetooth capability.

I have a cheapo one --- it doesn't work at all!

Is it the dongle, is it the phone? I don't know... but I have a Nokia USB cable anyway. That's fine for transferring pics, music, etc etc, but I'd like to use phone management software, and the best package I can find for Linux does not support USB, only Bluetooth.

Nokia's own software is such rubbish anyway that it is not even worth finding out if it will run in Wine or a VM.
