good choice. but i will also suggest you upgrade your display unit from monitor to lcd/led and also take help of opencl. the card which you selected is good and its under opencl supported card IIRC. if so then you can make use of parallel computing. lets say you are not playing games and doing come heavy duty work like video conversion using opencl you can steal the processing power of your gpu and wallah!
you can play games with it. excellent. and if you are into say programming you can boost up your programming skills. with opencl you get FFT (fourier fast transformation) dayum..... you got yourself a better processing speed apart from the opteron's processing speed.
if i were you? i would have installed linux any distro or bsd and used it to the fullest. i have no desktop only laptop.
everything is fine in a candy floos setup the only nudge is your display, get a better LCD/LED which means more moolah!
    hope this helped.

p.s. for a second i had a mental hangover if the display is lcd it is lcd. cool. sorry i should have googled. excellent mate. carry on with your purchase and dont forget to take the help of opencl. opencl is parallel computation. you will gain more for the money you are spending.good luck and my sorry for the lcd goof up! :-D cheers!
hxxp:/ / www.coreboot dor org/Supported_Motherboards looks like your mobo may be supported. if you install coreboot you may gain a lot on the performance aspect like faster booting and et al. if you need help with coreboot let me know.
