APC make UPS are pretty good. For price, you will have to check in the local market.

APC is good. In case you are interested in other brands, Microtek has a wide range of UPS, and their service is pretty good. I have had a Microtek UPS for close to 8 years now, and only changed the battery once.

APC is one of the best when it comes to quality but it is not good value for money. Microtek is the way to go when it comes to getting value for money. Just in case you do not know that you could even get a sinewave inverter from microtek along with a battery for less then 10k which would easily run your computer for more then 3-4 hours and even more depending upon your computers power requirements. Get a 850VA sine wave just for the computer and it would go a long way. No more interruptions due to power cuts

Like the others have said, APC all the way. We use them at all our businesses and they're rock solid, even after changing the battery.

I recently put a 1000VA net model back in service after having no battery for 10 years and it's still bulletproof.

is there a UPS that can be used for hours of blackout? I know the sole purpose of UPS is to be able to properly shutdown our PC during power interruptions but I wonder if there is a UPS that can keep the PC on for hours.

I have seen a lot of good reviews about APC UPS, but they seem to be very costly. I have checked it in Amazon. But cyberpower seems to be cheap and very compact, but not sure about its performance even though we can see a mix of response in the site. In fact I wanted to use a UPS for my laptop at home where low network coverage is taking too much of power from my laptop battery.

I like cyberpower, but it needs more study before taking a final call I think. Cyberpower is very compact and you can even hang it in on the wall.

Absolutely. But you have to be ready to pay for it. UPSs like these have much higher capacities like 2000va or more. On a single PC that would last 15mins with 500va, you can get 4x more time with a 2000va UPS. But the cost of these units is a lot more since these are basically entry-level data center grade units. There are APC units that allow multiple battery banks to be connected that would in theory provide several hours of use.

If you're really interested in just running a computer during a blackout, consider getting a car battery and an inverter. Car batteries have lots of ampage, so they can run a computer for longer than a UPS. The only downside is that you will need to shut down your computer, then unplug and connect to the battery and then turn it on again. But this route would be much, much cheaper than a data center grade UPS.

You can have it cheap, small, or reliable--pick two.

APC is the standard by which everyone measure up to because they are the brand that made UPSs into a business building block. You can settle for cheaper, but you will settle for less.
