I am not advertising for Logitech - but recently I purchased two webcams:

a) Logitech Orbit A/F Pro


b) Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000


The second webcam is possibly the best webcam ever made.

Well as of the best webcams then i think any camera is a good one. I had been using local made webmcams which comes for around 200-300 and i am pretty much happy with it.

I too used to think like you: what the heck - it is just a webcam; not a movie camera; all I want to do is videochat with someone - anyway the video is choppy so what difference does it make what webcam I use.

This is the past. Once you use this super webcams, then one realizes what one had been missing.

How much did you pay for these... and what exactly makes this web cam better then the rest?

This one (Quickcam Pro 9000) is $99.99 retail. I paid $49.99 plus taxes (free shipping) over Amazon. What makes this webcam better than others?

First I would like to set this straight, I am comparing this with the others in $15 to $35 range.

a) Superior picture - 2MP camera
b) Carl-Zeiss optics
c) Autofocus
d) RightLight Technology which take care of lighting, backlit, too much frontlit, etc. conditions.
e) Elimination of flickering - compatible with 50Hz (Europe) and 60Hz (America)
f) Integrated Mic with Cancellation of echo and background noise
g) Last but not the least, it fits so snugly over the laptop, it is hard to dislodge it by small shakes, etc.

well,its strange to know that you paid nearly 100$ for that..i have got the same in half price from satyam online's dealers..in just 45$..and i have checked all features are the same..either i have been robbed badly with some duplicate stuff or you were charged double..i think i should check it over net to see its original price..may be it was a bad deal done on my part..

If you have purchased it from Satyam online dealers then i am sure that it would be original if they mentioned it as original on the website. I have purchased few good from them and got it for cheap and also they were original.

I did not pay $100 ... I paid $49.99 + tax + free shipping on Amazon. $100 is the retail price in Best Buy, CircuitCity, Fry's, etc.

i bought for my sister a Logitech Quickcam 4000 SX or something like that, very nice cam, extremely clear image even in very low light conditions, face tracking, built in mic, reasonable price, and the usual suspects

I am looking forward to get a Web cam for myself. Like there was cam from Logitech which cost around 2100 and there was another which costed around 750 ( which was from Intex) but the calarity of the both of the cams were same. I am looking forward to buy the Intex one.

Webcams indeed look awesome.Now i am thinking of buying any of these one, as my old classical one is now obsolete.

yaa second one is looking good very decent look and carl 2megapixel cam sound wonderful

There are enough tests done - all you have to do is check CNET reviews. I did not say that this is the best - possibly the best.

But I can certainly tell you the picture quality blows you away.

I have a webcam but have never even tool it out of the box.
