Default What is the best brand of external hard drive

Though saving my important files in Google drive is a good safety measure I can do to save my files just in case my computer got destroyed by an infinite loop. Redownloading those files in a new computer will be a chore. I was considering to buy an external hard drive so my files will be saved even if my computer gets destroyed. I want to ask what is the best brands of external hard drive. I want to buy something durable and not something with planned obsolescence. It will be also if the storage capacity is around terabytes in size. I want an external hard drive where I can horde files and not worry about them being deleted.

Samsung is good, and really all you need is a durable hard disk with a hard exterior encasing. By the way infinite loop doesn't affect the system's hard drive and you can turn your destroyed laptop hard-disk into an external-disk also. So while buying a hard drive, you should also buy an empty encasing for the internal-disk of your laptop.

It's not required to choose a famous brand while buying an external hard drive. The main thing that matters is portability. The hard disk must be portable and supporting plug and play features. Also, the weight must not be very small nor too big. A normal weight that is easy to carry.

Just keeps these few things in mind while buying an external hard drive. And don't forget to compare the cost before buying.

Very good point in addition to mine also, it's good if you can also price down the gadget, I always do that.

Try Transcend, they are rugged and cheaper than other brands. I have bought two of them and they are performing well.

The problem with other drives like Seagate, WD etc., is that if you drop them they stop working. I lost one Seagate drive like that.

This sounds like a good deal, I really want to have my important files in an external hard drive because I cannot trust any OS anymore after Windows crushed many of my important files thanks to Infinite loop. Infinite loop is really a huge digital nightmare that has been haunting me for years and I have enough of it. I wonder if installing games is possible to external hard drives.

Rugged Silicon Power Armor A15. This device carries in her womb a Western Digital Scorpio Blue 5400RPM speed, but the feature that makes it stand out is its military-grade certification STD-810F, this set of specifications are used by the US Army to determine which devices are designed to withstand conditions such as strokes fall from a height of 1 meter and extreme temperatures from zero to fifty degrees celsius.

I would that Western Digital and Toshiba are the best brands in this kind of products! They have lots of models but generally every product is good if it's from one of this brands

Just search for prices and models and ask here and we'll tell you if they are good or if you need to search for other model But generally you need to look for models that support USB 3.0 at least, that have more than 5400RPM or even 5400RPM, if you use a laptop you can give priority to models that don't need to receive energy from the computer to work (for example, the ones that are plugged into a jack)
