Ive been using LG for some time and I havent had any trouble with it although I dont use it very often since I have started saving stuff in usb drives instead as its fast and more secure then a dvd or a cd

What do you guys think about Samsung ?
I have a samsung CD drive it was automatic CD loading when I bought 4 years before now its manual loading. Other than that its working fine. My Sony DVD Rom stopped working 2 years after I bought it.

I purchase Pioneer A06 DVD writer in 2003. Last year I purchased LG D/L DVD writer and both are good.

If you go by official Expert opinion ... "Lite On" is the best in DVD drives .... I use it and it has NEVER given me a problem ...

As shadowcon suggested "Lite on" and Samsung are the best available DVD writer in the market however if you are on budget then go for samsung as they cost a mere rs 1200/- only but if you want performance then go for Lite on but i think for lite on availabilty might be an issue

Song DVD ROM is the best selling DVD ROM in the market. It is famous for its clarity and good image quality.I would recommend it if you are buying a new DVD ROM.

i've tried SONY DVD reader, LG DVD writer and ASUS DVD writer with Lightscribe technology. Sony and ASUS are very sensitive with scratched disks, however LG gave me a consistent performance in writing and reading scratched disks.

Lite-on is the best. Some of the popular brand in the market are infact made by Lite-on, including one model of Sony. Now Moser Baer(Lite-on) is also available (slightly cheaper than Lite-on) with same configuration.

Well, I have used samsung 203-D and I normally burn around 20-30 disks per month on 8x using verbatim disks. No issues. There are many models in sony and asus which are pretty good. Even though they are OEM drives, you will see the model number on the manufacturer's sticker which is stuck on the box.
