u r welcome doc... 250GB will be much cheaper... just add around Rs. 500-700 to what the 250GB internal is in market right now... Else if u want to spend money... u can definitely opt for that sleek external drive...

Seems prices have dipped now...well they always do... Now I'm planning to get one more 1 TB in Jan.. My movies take a lot of space... And even this 500 GB is full now... I wanna use my dvds for backup only...
ppl are mad ere..
hey mohit.. y u keep all movies ..?? i mean after once or twice watching.. keeping it for some one month.. i usually delete it.. gosh.. 1 TB hdd u planning to buy....
shadowcon.. r u selling new ones?? i will buy from u only.. then.. what u saY??
great wow.. man.. keep it up.......
1) DVD's are unlikely to damage the lens unless they become warped.
2) Moser Baer DVDs are not bad. In fact they are sold as OEM to many companies abroad.
3) There is very little to say which DVDs are bad and which are not - but it is safe to stay away from non-branded DVDs. But that does not mean that non-branded DVDs are bad.
4) I purchased a spindle of 50 DVDs for AED 25 (4 years ago). The deal was too good to miss as a 10 DVD pack in India costed Rs. 380 then (1 AED = Rs. 12). These non-brand DVDs are still going great today.
You should make sure that DVDs are burnt properly. There is an option called "Finanlize DVD" in Nero - make sure that it is checked. Ensure that such an option is checked in your own DVD burning software.

thanks kixxi.. u r the man..completely satisfied with your answer.. chao....
but i couldnt find tht option u told.. i m using nero 9.. pl tell me where tht option comes.. i tried to find.. but couldnt...
I am still using Nero 6 Ultra edition. Nero is not giving me low cost upgrade and wants almost full price. And Nero 6 suites me fine and so I have no intention for paying extra for something trivial.
The option is available in the option when you click on the burn button and it shows some options such as check drive/dvd speed, etc.
Also ensure that buffer underrun protection is activated (it is done by default).
okie got it.. thanks kixxi...
If u r seriously asking .... No i am not selling it ...its the market price  .... i am not a hardware sales guy ....... Those are all the current market price ... u can get it for that much in any hardware shop that dont cheat .... it could be cheaper or costlier by 20 or 30 rs depending on the VAT charge in ur state
If u use NERO 8 there are 2 things u can do
1. Simulate a burn before doing the actual burning
U should uncheck the Burn Check Box and Check the Simulate check box...
2.Verify Data after Burning
Again Just check the Verify data after burning check box ... This will make sure that the copied dvd has exactly the same data as that of original source
these 2 will ensure 100% perfect burning

1 TB is nothing. I am planning a 4 TB NAS to create a digital movie jukebox one of these days.
means what actualy u gonna do with tht??
@shadowcon....what is the difference bw below two underlined HDD??
Hard Drives (SATA)
SeaGate Hard drives
80GB - Rs 1900
160GB -Rs 2100-2200
250GB-Rs 2300-2400
500GB-Rs 3200
640 GB-Rs 4200
750 GB-Rs 5400
1TB-around Rs 6900
Laptops
Seagate SATA
50GB-Rs 2100
80GB-Rs 2200
160GB-Rs 2750
250GB-Rs 3800
I have lost too much money lately in the stock crash.
So I have decided to postpone unwanted purchases till the time is right. So yes. I will plan to have a movie jukebox soon. And who know - by that time I will be able to get an 8 TB NAS for the same price.
My plan is as follows:
a) Rip all my DVDs hard disk
b) Using a media center PC, create a movie jukebox menu
c) Connect the media center PC to my HT
d) Watch any movie without the hassle of going thru the disks, et al.
This way, I will also back up my collection.
One more tip while burning DVDs... Avoid burning at maximum speed... Its always better to burn at half the speed of Max speed... And best if u hv the patience to burn at lowest...
u mean both ae internal right????? lil confused...usb drives... for my laptop.. 250 gb.. how much it will cost........ i asked a shop guy he said..3500
ya thts the best... but do really it makes difference? i mean what difference does it makes burning at slow speed and high speed? performance wise?? i have never tried...
Milan External hdd is different
it costs more than internal hdd converted to external hdd
Buy Internal hdd and also buy drive enclosure [ u can call it as an internal to external hdd converter]
Put the internal hdd into the drive enclosure to make it into external hdd
It ll cost u less than rs3000 for 250g
Drive enclosure=rs 700
Internal hdd cost+Drive enclosure cost
rs2200 + rs700 =rs2900
3500 is too much for a 250GB drive just check rates online too and do check rates in local computer market.Originally Posted by Mr.Tooth Fairy
While higher speed recording saves time and generally results in great discs, slower speed recordings may give you your best chance for a higher quality disc, with lower error rates... If you think you have problems, or if you have time to burn, slow your burning speed down to 4X or 2X...
