I know thats why I suggested if u r having problems in burning or u have time...
1 of my friends copied many games dvds...only to find later during game installation that his dvd writer missed few files to write...and didn't show error also at time of burning... so he decreased the burning speed later on... and was able to write them perfectly again...

the slower u burn the Cd's..u'r dvd's will have more life..specially if ur dvd's are local(like national/mercury/etc)..i always burn them at 4x or 8x max..
0.5TB of harddisk is just 3000bucks here...with a 16mb buffer....
online it says as u ppl told me.. less than 3k.. but i asked nearby shop.. actually its lenovo service cum retail shop,,, they told me 3.5k...
i agree with u.....! dvd.. normally at max speed also takes half an hour.. at 2x or 4x?? i cant imagine... will take 1 or 2 days practically..... its ok but then like burning dvd pc becomes very slow.. i noticed every time.. while burning cd dont have much problem..so its like cant keep dvd back side on burn..
ya thats there... but like 2x or 4x?? kuch zyada nahi ho sakta??lol
8x is acceptable..alteast
Try some other shop ...... he s not being honest with prices....
U should get ur lap checked i think ...if it slows down after burning?
If u
-->simulate before burning
and
-->verify data after burn
U can get perfect dvd at full speed .... i do this and i have never had a write problem ever .... check my previous post about this here
But for that u need nero 8
these 2 options should solve all ur probs
noticed the checked[tick mark] in both pics
shadow.. i will check those settings as u said..
regarding abt slowing down pc... its like DURING burn process. and tht also........... burning dvd.. only...... where as burning cd.. lappy works proper..
isnt tht normal?? i mean during burning dvd.. all comp becomes slow.. (opening n closin window.. performing any other process..)
shop guy is costly.. i also know.. thts why asked u.. regarding prices.. lol
Of course Burning process uses maximum ram ..... this slows down pc ...recommended not to use any other app while burning .... That could effect ur copy Dvd quality

I also have a similar problem. I have a HP Pavilion laptop. The DVD drive was working fine. But now it write DVD but later doesnt even recognize it. Blank DVD it recognises but once written its like no dvd in the drive. Ordinary CD works fine. Other DVDs( i. e not written in this lap) sometimes it recognize it. Writing is done fine i also do simulation and verification as said here and the DVD's work in other computers. I bought a few lense cleaners and used but found no difference. Please help. Thank you in advance.
see.. i told u am not the only one... got company too.. now where is kixxi...
This could be a firmware or driver problem. In the worst case, the lens may be shot and the drive bad.
But a bad drive should perform consistently bad, i.e., refuse all DVDs all the time. Are you able to read commercial DVDs?
yes... it reads all original dvds.. lol...problem reading pirated things.. i think... huh
:nono:
yes only written ones i have a problem original ones have problem
