Start your PC from ur vista dvd.
choose lang etc
Select the repair option and it will automatically repair your problem

NOTE : You may have to redo the same process upto 4 times.

First do wat is said above
if it loads, fine otherwise do it again..

Good luck

before formatting c drive ... copy and paste ur boot file in c drive to another drive .... edit it accordingly ... or u can even post it here ... i will try to modify it for u ... after formatting u need to place the modified boot file again in ur c drive

Windows Vista overwrites the MBR while being installed. Moreover it adds additional entry to the boot.ini file present in the C drive. U need to disable hidden files to see the boot.ini file.
