Bit Torrent is a torrent client just like any other P2P torrent client like µTorrent.

One you install the client, you need some basic setups to be done. The most important of all is port selection and port forwarding (read Torrents and Port Fowarding Guide). A full tutorial should be available in the Bit Torrent web site.

    1. To use it, first you need to decide what you wish to download.
    2. Suppose you wish to download a movie then you need to search the torrent for the movie. Use google search or search on torrent sites such as Mininova.
    3. The torrent is a small file with the extention .torrent. Download this file and load it in Bit Torrent client.
    4. The actual file (i.e., the movie) is shared by people (peers). Once the download starts, it works very similar to Limewire. The file is downloaded piece by piece from sharers (seeds) from all over.

There are many topics on torrent in the forum.

i have used 3 torrent clients (vuze, utorrent, bitcomet) and i think all of them run almost in the same way...except vuze (it is kind of a full package)

never used limewire or bittorrent so cannot comment....

    Default Torrent Guide

Its really simple to use ....

I find torrent very useful because
The major advantage of a torrent downloading is that u can stop/resume transfer anytime .... Also if your Computer crashes in the middle of download [for other reasons] Torrent can resume the download in its next session from where it stopped .... This is because it uses p2p protocol for file sharing

    Step 1
    Get a torrent client

I recommend getting Utorrent [pronounced Me-u Torrent] .
Its the official client and a light weight torrent i.e it does not use much system resource while it runs so u can use other apps while downloading .

    Step 2
Find a good torrent search site .

[There are threads in this forum where u can get to know how to find a good torrent site] say for Ex:Torrentz

    Step 3

Serach a torrent like say Ubuntu or Firefox

    Step 4

Double click on it to start downloading the torrent in ur torrent client

    thats it

Warning: Torrents tend to have a lot of Warez/pirated software [apart from legal free to use one] that break copyright laws . Make sure u know what u r downloading

No. It is quite easy. The first time may be hard to understand. But once you understand the concepts, it is a piece of cake. And it is no rocket science either ...

    MTNL also requires port forwarding
