    Private Character Editor overview
    Using Private Character Editor (PCE), you can create up to

    6,400 unique characters (such as special letters and logos) for

    use in your font library. PCE contains basic tools for creating

    and editing characters, along with more advanced options
    To open Private Character Editor, click Start, click Run, and

    then type eudcedit.


    DDE Share
    DDE Share is a tool for managing dynamic data exchange (DDE)

    conversations over a network. With DDE Share, you can create,

    modify, and delete DDE shares so programs on one computer

    can communicate and share data with programs on other

    computers. You can also define security restrictions on DDE

    shares.
    To open , click Start, click Run, and then type ddeshare.
    The Microsoft DirectX Diagnostic Tool
    The Microsoft DirectX Diagnostic Tool gives information about

    the DirectX application programming interface (API)

    components and drivers on your system. It enables you to test

    sound and graphics output and Microsoft DirectPlay service

    providers. It also enables you to disable some hardware

    acceleration features.
    You can use the diagnostic tool to gather information for a

    technician during a support call. You can save the information

    gathered by the tool and paste it into an e-mail message.
    To open , click Start, click Run, and then type dxdiag

    Object Packager overview
    Object Packager is a tool you can use to create a package that

    you can insert into a file.
    The Object Packager window has two panes. The Appearance

    pane displays the icon that will represent the package. The

    Content pane displays the name of the file that contains the

    information you want to package.
    To create a package, you copy the contents of the Appearance

    and Content panes, and then paste the information into a file.

    The package appears in the file as an icon.
    To open , click Start, click Run, and then type packager


    Sound Recorder overview
    Using Sound Recorder, you can record, mix, play, and edit

    sounds. You can also link or insert sounds into another

    document. You can modify an uncompressed sound file by:
    Adding sounds to a file.
    Deleting part of the sound file.
    Changing the playback speed.
    Changing the playback volume.
    Changing the playback direction.
    Changing or converting the sound file type.
    Adding an echo.
    To open , click Start, click Run, and then type sndrec32

    Win Chat
    You can use Chat on your computer to communicate with

    someone on another computer. Both computers must be

    connected to the same network; for example, a LAN or the

    Internet. Also, each computer must be running a similar

    protocol, such as TCP/IP.
    Chat is interactive. You see a reply to your messages as the

    other person types it.
    The Chat window is separated into two panes: one contains the

    messages you send, and the other contains the messages you

    receive.
    To open , click Start, click Run, and then type winchat
