Default Netbooks are becoming a rage!

Netbooks are not only gaining popularity, they are in fact, fast becoming a fashion statement. What do you feel the reasons are for them becoming such a rage? Is it just coz they are small and more portable? Or do you think it's the beginning of a new, even more connected era?

Notebooks give mobility and that is their greatest USP. But for the same cost, you will get a desktop that is much more powerful.

A netbook is a laptop computer designed for wireless communication and access to the Internet.[1]

Primarily designed for web browsing and e-mailing, netbooks rely heavily on the Internet for remote access to web-based applications and are targeted increasingly at cloud computing users who require a less powerful client computer. Netbooks typically run either Windows XP or Linux operating systems rather than more resource-intensive operating systems like Windows Vista. The devices range in size from below 5 inches to over 13, typically weigh 2 to 3 pounds (~1 kg) and are often significantly cheaper than general purpose laptops at US$ 400, with some even in the US$ 50–100 range.[8]

The word netbook is a portmanteau of the words Internet and notebook.

But it will not be mobile and will require a good deal of space to keep.

Oops! I am sorry. The author probably meant a netbook and I understood a notebook.
