    easiest way :

Use firefox version 3.0.12 or lower.
    Install Abduction extension
    browse to the required page.
Right click on the page and select "Save page as Image"
then you can select the region of the page to save (by default the entire webpage) is selected.

    Thanks for the info.

So this Abduction extension does not work on the latest FF version?

yes, its not working in 3.5 and above

another extension seems to work in 3.5 but i haven't used it before

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1146

Screengrab! saves entire webpages as images.

It will capture what you can see in the window, the entire page, just a selection, a particular frame... basically it saves webpages as images - either to a file, or to the clipboard.

It can capture any Java or Flash embedded in a page, but to do this it requires Java to be installed in the browser.

The following little keywords are at the request of those who can't remember the name ScreenGrab! and want searches to work. It takes screen shots, screenshots - that is, shots, of web pages.
    Support

Support for this add-on is provided by the developer at screengrab | Google Groups or by sending an e-mail to andy@screengrab.org

You can use it with Aardvark to remove unnecessary contents/objects or modify the page before saving as image.

Can you give an example page ? Which software or addon is that you used to convert to pdf ? First try using Aardvark to remove frames.
