Thread: How to download using a torrent file ?

1. Go to any site which offer torrent downloads.

2. Download the meta file. This is the file which contains the details of the file we need to download.

3. Install a torrent client like utorrent or vuze.

4. Double click the torrent file, it will automatically get added to the torrent client. Or you can simply initiate your torrent client and add the torrent file.

5. Specify the location to which the file is to be downloaded.

6. Once the download is complete, make sure that the you return the favour. You are a seed now and it is your privilege to give it back to the community.

7. After the download is complete, double click the download file from already designated location. You are ready to go

I have downloaded movies and now it says require playpix player to view movie. Unable to find free download for playpix

Some files are just fakes.. Please review the user comments before downloading a file from the torrent site...

This is where Mininova was at its best..... The user comments were well moderated unlike TPB..........

So, the fake comments were eliminated to some limit.............

after downloading say 10% of movie , pause the download and open that movie in VLC player and check if its the same or fake.

you cant do that usually, it would say its broken and if you still continue, you would be lucky if the starting was downloaded

Generally, there is a sample clip, some 15mb or so, chk that first...

When I do that, it starts to play movies on my HDD, not that I downloading...

So does this mean even after downloading playpix I won't be able to watch the movie?

Try VLC player, it supports almost all formats. Download the player from torrents and test. There are a lot of torrent sites which give original content.

Yes I did try it in VLC as well as WMP the file size shows above 1GB but plays only for few seconds and then provides link to download playpixx. I guess the download itself must be fake. I had kept the comp on for three days

Ya, it must be fake then...... vlc, mpc can play almost any format in this world....

It happened two times with me & I'm wasted 1.4 GB & two days of night downloading time..

mpc is Media Player Classic!

There are torrent websites like "Vertor.com" which indexes torrents after checking them. And almost all torrents from private trackers like "Demonoid.com" are safe.

Media Player Classic- HC with K-Lite Codec Pack, Real Alternative and Quick Time Alternative can play all media files.

But there are many other media players with inbuilt codecs and even more feature. The reason I like it, is because I can customize [enable\disable\rearrange] MPC menu.
