Thread: CD ROM problem :(

i didnt have Cd rom for last quite few days.today my frnd gave me a LG 52X Cd rom.I had plugged it properly and even a message comes-Found new hardware
MTP device

this comes beside the taskbar clock.Now what the hell should i do.If i click on it,there is a problem of not opening.Is there any other way except ADD HARDWARE.

most cd-roms are accepted readily..If you use win 2000 and older you shouldnt have a problem as they accept plug n play devices..Check up your Bios and see if you have enabled CD-rom status or else you can check you power cable connections and try shifting it to primary..

You may have to install the drivers which came with the cd rom. If it is already installed try to install hard ware from the control panel.

If you are using Windows Xp, ME or 200o then you do not need to install any software. Just install your Cd-Rom in your computer and then it should work and if there is some problem that your compter is not accepting it then you should look at the jumpers and if they are good then just return your friend CD Rom to him

First of all you better ask your friends wheter the CD rom is in good condition? Suppose the windows will detect cd rom not MTP device.

The best way it is to first check that is it detected in your Bios and if it is detected there then there can be some problem with your CD-ROM and you should ask your friend regarding this.
