    Default Firefox & Internet Explorer

    hi
this is in my opinion the differences between IE & FF
    System :
    - IE : 98/200/XP/VISTA , Macintosh
    - FF: 98/2000/XP/VISTA/Macintosh/FreeBSD/Solaris/*nix
    Security :
    - IE : http://secunia.com/product/11/
    - FF : http://secunia.com/product/4227/ ( fast Fixed )
    Respect of web standards :
    - IE : 7/10
    - FF : 9,5/10
    Cost :
    - IE : $$$$
    - FF : OpenSource
Also FF is More Fast Than IE
    what do you use ?

Well i would say that FireFox is better and since the date i had been using FireFox i have never ever used Internet Explorer and as of my personal view i would say that IE is the most crappy web browser till date.

I'm a FireFox fan. I only use FF and I even make it a point to spead the FF love to other people when I see them using IE.

The biggest difference between Fire Fox and Internet Explorer is that FF is a secured one as compared to Internet Explorer and more over it is faster as compared to IE.

    FireFox
advantages: more ease of use features; more secure.
disadvantages: can be slow at times

    Internet Explorer
    advantages: fast
disadvantages: any day now we'll see yet another Microsoft vuln that affects IE; IE crashing can require a reboot

    Opera
    advantages: Fast and more secure.
disadvantages: Still has some misc. problems with javascript/java-enabled sites

and how about " safari browser " ( product from apple ). already have windows xp/vista version....

    does anyone have experience ?

I agree with all of you. However, one of the biggest advantages of IE is that IE is the browser of choice amongst corporates and almost all web applications are written and tested for IE. There are a quite a few web applications as well as Enterprise Applications that do not work well (or at all) in other browsers.

I personally prefer internet explorer to ff for my general browsing, as i feel it is more faster and more easy to use (i belong to the older class of internet, LOL), but will sometimes feel frustrated with the fact that IE crashes very frequently too and no credibility is there. While i use Firefox mostly for secure browsing!

IE7 crashes sometimes but not very frequently. It has happened to me maybe one or two times a month. That is acceptable to me.

If it is crashing more often for you, try the following:

    - try to upgrade to IE7, if you have not done already
    - apply windows updates regularly
    - turn off many "silly" browser helper objects (BHOs)
    - even Google/Yahoo Tool bar is not required for IE7

I would like to go with FireFox as it is much better browser then the Internet Explorer. I had been using it for a long time and since then i have never ever used Internet Explorer but still some sites are not compatable with FF so i use IE for those but this happens rarely.

For me firefox is the best browser and this is because it is stable (as everyone else has said) and another thing is that it is much better looking then Internet explorer.

I like to use both of these internet browser and as many member have said that IE not stable then i would not agree with this point as IE is a stable Internet browser and also there are many skins available to chnage the look at this browser.

FF.........all the hacking legends / computer geeks prefer FF or Opera. some how IE 7/6 also copy of the FF to gr8 extent. (the tab concep, Pop up blocker). ya but FF consumes more system resources at the begining than the IE, so it takes a bit more time to load for the very first time.....but after that its supersonic. mayn webies whcih doesn't work on the IE are just matter of few seconds for FF....atleast i have experienced that

    Dear itsmemad,

You must be a so productive using 54(-18) add-ons. What are your favorite add-ons?

I use 4(+1 default). Still I can call mine a productive FF. I use FireGustures, Foxmarks, WebDeveloper, FireFTP and UbuntuFirefoxModifications(default).

My favorite add-on is foxmarks. It helps me to move between different PCs/OSs and still make my bookmarks available.

Sorry...its 53... counting mistake(coz there was a FF doc in my bakup folder)..

Most important firefox addon for me is FEBE... As it helped me to create a backup of all my add-ons... Now in case of windows reinstallation... I wont need to search 4 add-ons on net...
My other favorites are Cooliris Preview, FastDial, FireFm(Great internet radio addon), FireGestures, FlashBlock, GooglePedia, ImageZoom, ReaditLater, ReminderFox, TabScope...

Currently I'm using Nasa Night Launch as my theme... And it has become my favorite dark theme...

U can see my list of add-ons in the attachment...
