Default Advent T8 Desktop computer Hardware problem

Ihave a desktop computer with two hard drives 200GB each and its got two cd drives as well and the problem is that one of the hard drives dont show up any more and both the cd drives do have power coz the eject thing works on both of them but I can run a cd in either one of them.

Any ideas what would have caused it?

    PS:My PC is not infected

There is another issue that the fan makes too much noise all the time ... do you think the processor needs a bit of heat sink? and also is it possible to change the fan without actually changing the processor?

For those who find it helpful while replying.. its an Advent T8 and you can find the specs here I couldnt find the official site for this manufacturer

sorry admin i am replying to this thread very late

First of all tell me whether your hardisk are connected throgh SATA or regular IDE cable?

and also your optical drives are connected thorugh IDE or SATA interface??

--and yeah it is possible to change the fan without changing the processor ...who told you this that you have to change the processor to change the fan

regarding the noise.........if the processor heats up beyond normal the fan is instructed to spin faster to its maximum limit! so it creates noise and this is caused due to the fact that the heatsink is choked with dust ........do this remove the processor fan and give a tight blow of air to the heatsink then notice how much dust leaves the heatsink

Google'd bios soft ver and determine max hdd size that it can detect and reg optical drives.

Confirm whether this is the way you have connected your drives or something else
    a) Primary 0: bootable hdd and jumper in master slot
    b) Primary 1: additional hdd and jumper in slave slot
    c) Secondary 0: Optical drive without jumper
    d) Secondary 1: Optical drive without jumper

Admin are you able to do the autopsy of your PC or not ..........if not do it!!

Regarding the jumper thing you didnt understand(i think): when you buy a new hardisk it is set to primary master by default meaning their by it is the primary disk which your PC will use to boot up the OS(Operating System).
There are some pins on the HDD which controls these settings i.e. whether the HDD will act as primary or secondary.
There is always a sticker pasted on the HDD explaining how to configure the HDD to the desired setting (master or slave)

Jumper: it is a small piece usually made of plastic and conducting material is inside that which is used to join the desired pins on the HDD to control the settings whether the HDD will behave as primary master or secondary slave, this jumper acts as connecting bridge between the two pins

Now set the jumper according to your need, as for eg: read the figure on your HDD which you want to make it as primary master(through which your PC will boot) and the other one as primary slave and set the jumper according to the figure

    BIOS(Basic Input Output Settings)
: To enter BIOS press delete or F1(whichever maybe in your case) at the time of startup not at the windows but at when you switch on the PC.
In this you can configure your peripherals, processor,RAM,core voltages,GPU etc etc.....
as SKAP said configure one of your HDD(the one which has some OS installed) to primary master......and the other HDD to primary slave there should be options in BIOS similar to these
    First boot device:
    second boot device:
    Third " " :

If these are the options then select device 0(zero) in first boot device and disable the rest of them. now you are ready to go!!

I think i have made myself clear

    player -
we do not need to configure anything in bios. I prefer not to change anything in bios.

In my previous post, I meant physical connectivity of hdd and optical drives

    admin-
am searching for an article with some pictorial description of this connectivity. i let you know

    admin-
it helps in knowing a general concepts of connecting harddrives
    http://www.pctechguide.com/tutorials/HardDrive1.htm

    after that,
    a) connect two drives in channel 1. Set jumper in master slot in booting disk. Remove jumper in other additional hdd.
    b) Remove jumpers in optical drives and connect them in channel 2.

But some drives require you to connect jumper in slave mode. so we need to check in other case also.

as player said, you will be able to find BIOS version either while booting or in BIOS setup. google'd then to determine whats the maximum size of hdd it can detect
