Open a new tab in Google Chrome or Firefox with one keystroke

Most of us browse the Internet at least once a day. There are many free utilities made for web browsers that make Internet surfing easier and more fun.

One of those cool utilities is TabsLock, a small program made for Google Chrome that will launch and open a new tab automatically when you press the Caps Lock key. The nice thing about this is that Google Chrome does not even have to be open, it will start up Chome with a new blank tab.

If Chrome is already open, then it will simply open a new tab in the current browser window.

So you might be thinking “Well how am I supposed to use Caps Lock if I need to?” and that’s a good question! If you really need to use Caps Lock while in your browser, just press Shift + Caps Lock to toggle between the normal Caps Lock behavior and the TabsLock behavior.

If you are not using Google Chrome as your default browser, don’t worry, there is a version of this program for Firefox also! It may not seem like a lot of time saved pressing one key rather than clicking one button, but over time it makes a difference.
