I would also like to know that.
AVG free edition...fast & adequate for home use.
The rest hog a lot of system resources.
If your system is up-to-date, kaspersky rocks.
But you'll have to buy it or search for keys on the internet coz they blacklist them often.

i did make a EXtreme Performance edition Xp SP3 install, it looked like vista. after the install the complete windows folder was Almost 180mb, so it can run on older systems as well...it's really right, but due to the lack of seeders i might hve to stop the torrent, i can redirect you to an acqaintences install though slightly larger, but well seeded, and i have a Hardcore XP sp3 install in mind too, completely modded to look like vista from the start slipstreamed the packs and drivers...but you'll need an accnt on funfile and iptorrents for that ....if you hve em, good for you!

A cracker can't afford to slip in bugs on a private tracker, due to it being a ver concious communtiy the uploader would get banned or his torrent disabled if that happens, all it takes is a report torrent button

There is a low/nill chance of finding altered softwares in private trackers. Because people report it as soon as they find it fishy and the torent is flagged for inspection and ultimately removed from the database if found tampered with.

AVG was really good until just some years ago. Now, AVG is not so good as the other free ones (if you had meant about free ones). AVG's time has passed.

The decline of AVG started with the release of version 8. Too bulky on the system resources, especially the link scanner (which turned out to be a nightmare for broadband users with data limits). Link scanner can be omitted during the installation using a command line switch.

Yes. You maybe correct upto an extent.
It may actually sometimes (or much more) be upto the specs one needs.

But Kaspersky would come good for most.

I find KAV is a bit hard on memory requirements. On home i am on a 768MB RDRAM enabled PC, it makes the pc a bit sluggish although the detection rates are awesome.
