kis is better than kav.kis takes up very little memory.infact,it is the easiest on memory comapres to any other av.with kis running,my total mem consumption is only 20 25%

One of the portals i would suggest for AV enthusiasts is www.shadowserver.org The site is self explanatory.

bit defender is te best..but it takes up a lot of memory.plus it slows down the computer.
kaspersky and bit-def are 19-20.less mem consumption by kis makes it better i guess.
and nod32 is not as effective as kis.

i guess after 8th version it got better with all the things..........system resources thing wont matter for more than 1 GB RAM users........personally i think norton is the best if u hav 2 GB RAM or more than that........

You shouldn't be thinking about just your own view. It is not actually spam that is cluttering up (I hope so  ). Everyone would always like to give a review on their antivirus suite. If this thread is closed, then many new ones to this thread wouldn't be able to express their views and opinions and won't be able to ask doubts in any posts here. (Starting a new thread wouldn't be so good)...

Reviews from that site is not accurate. It's calculated by the total features in the product and not exactly the quality of that feature.

Bitdefender & Kaspersky are the best paid antivirus software. And when it's comes to free ant-virus, Avast and Avira are the best.

Some sites offers 6 month or 1 year license of popular Antivirus softwares for free. I think that's what he meant.

    Work= Google Search.

i know of a site that provides free 6 month sub for kav.but mind you its for kav, and not for kis.

if one uses too much internet, i think kis would be the obvious choice!!

I hope its not yuvayantra. They have stopped the free offer and have clubbed the free offer along with a retail product purchase.

norton does not detecct many trojans that kaspersky detects.
i think those who have not used kas, should for once use it and then see which one i best..

than may be most of the trozans are made by the kaspersky guys only....coz every anti virus company used to spread a virus to sell their own software....(one of my friend told me this thing from Mcafee)....

u can try this as for check ur anti virus is working or not..............

    • open notepad
    • paste the bold letters in it X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H*
    • save file by ne name but with .txt extension......

    • now check this file with ur anti virus........if ur AV found this as a visus than ur version is working.........

I think for this post i deserve few repo points..........

    have you tried it?
and if the av judges it as a virus,is it not an unwise thing to do: to create an unwanted file??

and how canjust checking one file confirm it??

mcafee will even return kas or norton setup as virus.. so does norton.but not kas..
cos Kaspersky labs are smart.. and best.

bhaiya ji now u r talkin like a noob........every software(AV) can show any setup as virus if it was a warez..........mostly all the keygen nd patches nd cracks contains trojans in them.......just becoz they contains some malicious scripts.........just give that script a try it was not a harmful one....

    try kaspersky,then we shall talk..
and moreover, the kaspersky installation file does not have any patch or crack or serial inbuilt.it comes separately,as far as i know,as a file called kis.exe !!

the setup file, the one called kis.exe is the one that is detected as malware.same with norton.but kaspersky will never say that a mcafee setup file,ie, setup.exe, as a malware!!
