Thread: Best Internet Security Suite for slower P3 PC

Hello Guys

Currently I'm using Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 (v 8) on my Intel P3.
And when I turn on the protection my pc's startup time is approx 2min.

So is there any good Internet Security Suite which works fast on P3.

I'm also heard good reviews about Bit Defender and it's cool features related to game.Is it good enough for my PC.

The Security Suite you would need will depend upon what all things you do and your system...
I would anyway recommend to keep Kaspersky if you are having only the delay for the starting up of Windows...
If you are planning to use free ones, then I would recommend Avira...
Many of my friends are using it..

I have not tried Bitdefender yet..
So I don't know about its memory requirement and all...
I have heard that it is good..

I am interested in the amount of RAM installed on your PC. If its 1GB or more then KIS will suffice.

I am hearing good reviews about Norton 2009 gaming edition. U can try it also.

bit defender total security 2009 is best and its rating is No. one also good and it doesn't affect system two and windows 7 also support it

First thing : wrong section.
Try ESET Smart Security....its best fot the slow & old machines......consumes very low ram while running

Avg free addition is also good and also u receive its update regularly so install AVG

its extremly light wieght scanner. you ca try it free for 30days. dowload link

In free Av scanner, try Avast Antivirus.
Using this on my little brother PC from 05, runs light. it also have boot time scan option

AVG is labeled a bloatware these days, thanks to its LinkScanner which makes browsing extremely slow. But using a switch in the command prompt, this LinkScanner can be avoided from installing.

security suites use more resources ... for ur kind of pc ... i will recommend :

1) using a resource friendly av like avira/eset nod32

2) using a separate antispyware/antimalware and using it only to scan ur system occasionaly and not running it in the monitoring mode...
