Verify that the print spooler service is working fine.

In the run window, type services.msc. On the resulting window look whether print spooler service is set to automatic. Right click the service, select properties and in the startup type, select automatic.

also click "start" to start the spooler service immediately and verify that the printer has started to function normally. If not, pl. report back.

you should see a process running in the task manager named "spoolsv.exe"

though there are a very spywares & malwares that tend to attack this process ... i always recommend switching this service off as soon as you are done with your printing job
