    Default Why Use Gmail

I always tell my friends to use gmail
because its safe, reliable & Convenient
    How ?
It doesn't show your IP Address if you are the sender...
every email has a header, which tells us from whom & where the mail came from
it also shows the IP Adress of the sender, from the network & firewall it came
    but not for gmail only
if you open it's header, it doesn't show these details
    so, its the best

It is merely hiding those details from normal users. To the administrators, the details are available.

Why should you care whether IP is disclosed or not? Are you doing anything illegal?

Its only an ip address, not your bank details!

I don't care who sees my ip address!

Well, Preeti, you or me don't care about our IP address or location. But there was a certain member who left the forum because his location was mentioned.

Sorry to say but then that person has a long long way to go!

Maybe he doesn't know that there are ways people's address and phone numbers can be found, not that i know how that is, but technology!

He should also think that if someone knew his location what then, ip locations come according to towns/regions, and they are very big, why would someone search for someone in a big city or region!

    Weird people!

The funny part was that all that was mentioned about his location was the country that he resided in. But he made a lot of hue and cry about privacy policy of this forum, infringement, etc.

    thats why it said that
secrecy is over-rated, if u don't want anybody to know, don't do it.
Really, I fail to understand what sercrecy infringement happens if somebody mentions the country u are accessing the net from......... unless of course your name is Osama Bin Laden.

    Why to use gmail?

Coz, gmail is an email program by the great Google. Its very secure and safe. If you have used gmail then you will feel the difference between other email services and gmail services. Recently, gmail has launched the theme feature with lots of themes. In other services you will not get that much themes. Other emails takes lots of time to load their email after signing in, but gmail opens in just few secs.

Also, I liked the concept of a Label. You can define as many labels as you want. Like - Business, Family, and Friends. Evey conversation can be tagged with zero or more labels, and you can find the conversations very easily and in a particular way.

There are many things that makes us feel great about the gmail. It will take many lines to define why gmail is better than any other email programs?

This is enough to describe why use gmail

The main reason why i switched to it at first ~ the hype .. then the simplicity.

Most important of all it has only text ads which menas its less intruisive and bandwidth efficient..

Morover it has had POP and SMTP access for so long. With that i had no other reason to go for any other service provider.

And ofc i like some of its new features

    Last 5 IP addresses
    Offline mail access
    Specific Mail forwarding
    And it supports Opera too
