Which AV do u use? Do u keep it updated? Install the trial version of Kaspersky AV 2009. It will help u get rid of all your virus/spyware related issues.

Why not do a format the drive once you finish scanning ?. If its showing up with virus again then you must be careful as to where you insert the drive :whistling:

Free AVG Anti-virus is one of the best in the business. It has daily updates and it's very effective. And as for spyware and malware, I would suggest you use SpyBot which is free and is one of the most powerful spyware scanner avaliable in the market.

That is a tricky situation then, maybe you can install the above AV and try to scan the drive. Once you detect and delete all the virus in it, take a backup of the drive and fully format the drive and load back the data in and then do a scan again to check for virus.

Let me know if you face any issue on this..

All new cheaper ones have viruses.these viruses are not dangerous but a virus is a virus indeed.i got virus in my amkette.it was a packed one.how it got in it?noone knows.the better way is to anti virus it with either kaspesky avast or mcaffee etc and delete the virus from it.then, load the data somewhere else.and format the disk with the already given program that comes with the flash drive from the manufacturer.if itsnt there format it as fat 32 windows disk.

Do not worry about the data contained. Just install the AV and scan the PC using it. The data will remain intact.

disable autorun in the PC before u insert the usb drive.
insert the drive and scan with any good AV.
that should take care of it.
otherwise try uploading the data to any stable mail a/c like yahoo/gmail. that should take care of the virus.
    then format the drive.

yes ... my first suggestion would be to disable autorun permanently ...

also have a good updated antivirus (kaspersky or nod32) running in the background. no virus/spyware/worm spread thorugh sutorun.inf would disturb you. as soon as you will open/explore the removable drive the antivirus will take care of the infection ...
