    My system takes a very long time to startup and shutdown. It'svery annoying for me. Plz suggest some software to manage and optimize system startup.

    Use free software CCleaner.Exe that will clean the registry and get rid of unwanted registry entries. Check startup items and services. Disable unwated services.

    Yeah CCleaner is best. i am using it from last year or so. only problem is sometimes it clears the logs for few thing in windows whcih might needed by some program to run sometimes. I got login problem with the MSN. Then i excluded the MSN folder in docs&settings to get it work. U need to be careful while using the cleaner programs.

    First of all remove any programme that is in Startup items.

    Second go to run->Msconfig

    Popup will open, Select Startup tab, in that uncheck startup items that you don't want to load at the startup time.

    Third you can go to control panel->Performance and maintenance->Administrative tools->Services

    There you will find all the services. Select manual as startup time for the services that you don't often required.

    You can also use CCleaner but i don't have any experience of it. Ya i can suggest you to use Uniblue PowerSuite, it contains product like

    Registry Booster + SpeedUpMyPc + DriverScanner

    and it's superb. Just try that out and let me know..I hope this will be helpful

    Default remember which entries where there

    start>run>msconfig
    remove everything unwanted other than anti virus, even microsoft office. when you reinstall window, go to start up and remember what all entries where there. check regularly and replace this settings. that all.

    others are not important you can access them by clicking it(if you want)

    Try Ccleaner and also that startup improvement using msconfig. If you still dont feel comfortable i recommend you to use a small utility called Bootvis (previously supported by microsoft). You can download it from majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=664

    I'll PM you the Instructions on how to use it
