I downloaded spyware doctor from Google and gave a scan. It found some reg key in internet policies and removed. Even after that my system was very slow. It took days to open a new page, a new window or a new program.
    Some software was downloading @ 15 - 25 KBps.

I use Zone Alarm Firewall and has no clue which one. I closed all the windows, still it was downloading. So I went to the programs section Generic Host Process for Win32 was on allow mode. I ignored the warning by firewall and changed it to ask. After that my page load speed was better. Then I gave a system restart.

Now the Generic host process want to connect to trusted zone. I denied the request. Now I cannot access any sites. So I enabled it, opened Google Chrome, Firefox and Flock , accessed the home page. Everything was ok.

Then I changed the settings of Generic Host to ASK. My system feels like an extra 2 GB ram addition. I don't believe I am getting such a good performance.

I am sharing this so others, if at some point face this problem can use these tips.

Sorry for replying late here... I had been bit buzy...

Have you tried windows defender? Install it & scan... Sometimes win defender fix the mess when others fail!
