" Next seach for the memory settings"
i couldn't find any settings in BIOS.
Let me list what i found in BIOS (i used del key)

CMOS set up Utility Copyright 1984-2005 Award Software

    Standard CMOS Feature
    Advanced BIOS feature
    Integrated peripherals
    Power management set up
    PnP/PCI configuration
    PC health status
    Frequency/Voltage control

I checked all of them. but couldn't find anything related to RAM. The closest was Frequency/Voltage control. But it is tagged as "Change CPU's clock and voltage".

I have tune up utilities 2007. Is it useful for this kind of work?

I just scanned to see what will happen (offline). After initiating the scan, i tried to open a pic ( i use ACD see). That's all the system restarts.

" You have to use a higher rated power supply depending say 400w or above."

Can i simply choose any SMPS 400 W and above. Or is there any calculation.
your particular BIOS software doesn't have the feature to change the frequency, so u cannot do anything about it.

No tuneup utilities cannnot help with this.

the next option is to run with the new chip alone and check if it takes care of the problem.

try this website to calculate approx power needed by ur system

So did you saw which driver is faulty in that BSOD??

    P.S

Well i just saw that BSOD happens in safe mode where no 3rd party drivers run, only drivers which runs in safe mode are windows component. So it's 99.9 percent sure that some of your windows files are corrupt, and while scanning those files in normal mode it get restart... Also as you mentioned that you reinstall your windows frequently but i'm sure that you're using same CD for reinstalling.. Try to reinstall windows again with some another CD...

Ok. Need to find another CD....

At times, my system restarts while moving large files (mostly movies) from one drive to another (not always, 1 in 10). Is this related to this problem.

If your windows files are corrupted, any other problems are proportional to that... BSOD in safe mode = Windows File & Driver proble.. and that could lead to other problem also...

Please find the estimated power rating attached. Your suggestions are always welcome.

I've made some changes to your selection and I got 294 W which is pretty much close to max. power output of you ur Power Supply.

So this *MAYBE* the problem, coupled with the fact that if your mains supply goes below 220v, that can reduce the power output too.

changes i made to ur selction :

    • added video card (most mobo's have inbuilt video card)
    • selected 2 RAM stick (wat u selected was SSD HDD)
    • selected full load on system & proc (I assume this coz, ur config is old,so I expect most modern AV to stress ur system resources fully)
    • addded capacitor aging (again assuming you are using this system for 1+ year , correct me if i'm wrong)

    ------

You haven't told us anything about testing with RAM removed.

Very likely. I have some voltage problems in my area. So I use a stabilizer in addition to my UPS. It helps me to work when the voltage drops ( only during peak hours).

Sorry for a late reply. My cousin had also purchased an assembled pc with amd processor & it never worked properly ( i dont know the reason till now , i guess it was a heating problem) . I myself hav tried all remedies on that pc & nothing worked out.
The solution : he changed to an intel based processor & all problems vanished.
    Try doing this.
    Hope your problem gets solved.

    hi,

My friend couldn't manage till date. Can't expect him before weekend. Instead of full scan, i tried scanning each drive separately. Most of them worked ( but some of them (1 or 2) gave restart). There was some dropper in almost all of the system volume information folders. I did the scan yesterday and it came back today. Please check the logs (attached). Just for your information.

No matter what your anti-virus do with System Volume Information, it always get restored, Because it's special, protected system folder.. no antivirus can modify it.. Although they made you to believe this ..

    Try this..
You need to "Turn off System Restore on all drives".. For this go to my computer->properties->System restore and check the box named "Turn off System Restore on all drives"... Restart and try scanning

    P.S
I still emphasize you too reinstall your windows with some fresh win Xp bootable

Removed the RAM and scanned. Still restarts while scanning. Seems to be a bad hard disk problem. Now using only one RAM, 512 MB one. Still it is like. I am leaving it as it is.

It might me due to some improper installation of some popular anti virus package. I too faced these kind of problems in my system. Then I decided to go for an anti virus package provided by mycuredcomputer.com. It completely removes all kind of viruses in computer on your own without needing a computer technician and this gives my system good security and protection. They do provide computer services too.
