Default Kaspersky latest editions for Rs500

Well i am hearing this thing from last few days......particularly some of mine internet frnds from B'lore told me. I read somewhere that this is offer exclusively available in india. One of my frnd told me that if client buying in group, then price goes down to something like 300 bucks per head (for 3 license keys for 1 year). 300 for 1 year......FTW.....its hell chip. can any one confirm me this......if its read then i will surely buy one key for year.

Yep Kaspersky's pretty cheap, but hardly worth paying for ... coz if you know where to look you can easily keep getting legit 6 month keys....

    KIS @ 1k for 3 PC / yr

    http://www.yuvayantra.com/services/k...=YYCPVS0001028

    KAV 4 6-months/ 1 PC @ Rs.150

    http://www.yuvayantra.com/services/K...=YYCPVS0001027

I have atleast two free 6 month KAV licences with me now

A very good thing to do. If you want to stop piracy instead of crying thief theif !consider quoting a reasonable price. Who will buy if you sell products in dollar in India. India do not bank on money that was squeezed from colonies centuries ago. Give me a decent price that will fit in my budget and I am ready to pay for your service.

free anti-viruses are as good as kaspersky , some even better ..... and its always not advised to use multiple products from the same company like security suites and 360 suites

    Ex:

Norton anti-virus is good ..... but their firewall is close to useless

so their 360 security suite is not recommendable

Not a problem as we can get KAV for free too...

In free AV, avast , avg are hopeless... many a time they are even able to detect malware, but unable to remove/delete em.

not true.AV-Comparatives - Independent Tests of Anti-Virus Software - Main-Tests is a very good site to check reviews of various antiviruses & kaspersky,nod32 are the most consistent performers here with an ADVANCED+ rating.avira premium edition is good but it gives way too many false positives & hence get an ADVANCED rating only.check out the latest Retrospective/Proactive Test for may 2009 & you will see that only kaspersky,NOD32 & surprisingly microsoft!! achieved ADVANCED+ rating.this proactive test checks an antivirus ability to detect malware/viruses without help from updates & hence is a more real indicator of an antivirus capabilities.

According to the site (that u gave a link for)

Avira had the highest detection rates .... but was penalized for too many false positives

Microsoft Live One Care had the best rating overall ,higher than kaspersky ..... its a free software ....

thus confirming my previous statement that some free softwares performed better than kaspersky

and according to performance test MS , Avira and Kaspersky got around the same rating

guys i have pretty much experience with the security s/w.......as member of warez forum.....i download all kind of stuff & i bet i got all kinds of the threats of my system......after testing near about 20-25 security suits on diff systems.......i came to conclusion as

    1. KIS is best (only thing it slows system)
    2. ESET NOD is pretty much effective as KIS (its really lite) but not handy as KIS
    3. for servers, McAfee is best.

i have too have used many anti-virus

in fact the only one that i have not used is KIS

i found both Avast and Avira to be far more effective than NOD32 in both detection and removal

one of the major problems i found with NOD32 is that its unable to remove almost 1/4th of the malware it detects during full scans

i would rate the free AVG among the worst AVs i used

and McAfee is one of the first AVs i used
I stopped using it after it became corrupt after being attacked by a virus !

@ShAdOwCoN,you missed both my points.first of all i said kaspersky & nod32 are the consistent performers.microsoft was rated as one of the worst in 2-3 tests ago.you can not trust an antivirus which comes at bottom in one test & at top in other.also test included avira premium version not the free version.
on a lighter note though microsoft antivirus is not free & in an economical sense of speaking nothing microsoft had ever made or will ever made which is free

edit:indeed it's true.i never bothered to check if MS antivirus was freethanks newprouser

I never heard NOD32 a best better one.

There are many viruses bypass NOD32.

The Main reason for using NOD32 is lightest. Wont drag your system.

Also regarding KIS, my uncle having great problem in activation. Second time it happens.

Bit Defender is Very Good but Little Slow.

ALAS! I cant find it easily in Chennai []

AVG has an Option Called Heal
What actually means that i dunno!!

Is it possible to heal a Infected file.:O:O:O

correct ... i got it for free and so thought it was free !

i only used it for 3-4 days tho

And Avira premium and free version use the same virus scanner+database

its only feature wise that they vary

this is totally wrong.....u have two options with NOD (v4.0) only scan & clean.....u must have disabled the clean option by mistake.

lastly one thing, there is no thing as perfect security. any security in world can be broken.

correct but only to this extent.it lacks the spyware/adware detection in free version.

@harishsyndrome,nod32 is one of the best AV's around & in fact on any AV reviews site the competition is usually between nod32 & kaspersky when it comes to consistently good performance.if you are having problems with it then it only means you haven't configured it correctly(not to mention that it must be original too).
