in case if the above solution does not work, use "Delete Doctor" (a small freeware software).

You can select a file to be deleted at system restart. should work without problems.

The file is repeating because some other file is replacing it. It is a common feature of a malware. To get out of this problem, first you need to delete this master file.

Your browser have been hijacked. Uninstall it completely and reinstall. I hope you are using Comodo firewall or spybot which protect your browser start up entry reg key protected.

Run a full system scan after updating your antivirus. Try these for useful tools. Among them use CA Yahoo Antispy and run a scan.

Hi there "prasanta08", Since file is rebiuld itself than it has to be a mother file installed somwhere. To remove this, first go to the safe mode. Then, disable System Restore. Now, run updated AntiVirus (Still in the safe mode) to make sure there is no malware left in the system. Good Luck .

Possib'ly a Spyware OR something causing such problem, Trojen is also a threat here. Better you scan in the safe mode first, make sure everything is clean & than install an AntiSpyware (SUPERAntiSpyware, Ad-Aware 2009, Spybot S&D) & scan system for any possible Spywares.

Reinstall the browser and check. Also disable firewall and try. While reinstalling, please do not retain old customizations.

how to keep XP from running check disk on startup after a non-graceful shutdown..... This is a registry modification:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session Manager
    REG_MULTI_SZ: BootExecute=""

with the autocheck autochk * removed you'll no longer be bothered with check disk.

There is a facility called disk doctor in TuneUp Utilities 2009. Try it.

there is a separate, unique case where this problem can occur... If you are dual booting with vista or windows 7, this can occur !

    Quite possible.

May be your disk is having a bad sector.

IF the above doesn't work, try this too

There are some people suggested to edit the registry but the proper way to disable CHKDSK from starting up is using the /x switch on chkntfs command in command prompt. The /x switch will exclude a drive from the default boot-time check. If you have drive C: as your hard drive, then the command to disable chkdsk from scanning C: drive would be:

    chkntfs /x c:

If you have 2 drive, C and D, you can disable chkdsk with the command below

    chkntfs /x c: d:

1.Put windows xp CD in the drive.
2.Open cmd prompt and type sfc /scannow

this will replace all your modified system files with original one.
