I own a KIS 2009 (valid license)...would I be able to upgrade while using my current serial number?

not sure of upgrade, but you install KIS 2010 and see if it works. Since kav 9 serial works for 2010 i'd hope the same for KIS 2009 too.

OK I updated it...and it worked without any incident. The upgrade from KIS 2009 to KIS 2010 Works perfectly! I only had to tweak a few firewall rules.

Didn't even had to input my serial or anything...it automatically detected the previous license.

I also tried the bridged mode...and bam...the KIS firewall stopped a few attacks within seconds!

I think PPPoe is much safer...atleast I don't get attacked so often.

Did it update seamlessly over previous version, or it unistalled the prev version and installed the new one ?

    I downloaded this file: http://www.kaspersky.com/kis_latest_...link=206910647

    version 9.0.0.459

It was a 63mB exe file...when I launched it...the upgrade was automatic. didn't even have to click on too many buttons.

McAfee's days are over. Dunno abt corporate version, but the normal one is junk.

I'd say Avast home edition - free, light weight, nearly full featured and convenient - I use it on my old desktop too and am quite happy. Together with Comodo free firewall and A-squared free or Spyware Terminator free, it is everything and more of one of those heavy hungry suites.

yeah ever since I got me self KIS...it was bye bye Mcafee...It slowed down my Vista to a crawl.

It also treated all the keygens as trojans and there was no option to add any programmes to a trusted list because there was no such thing as a trusted list!

I too face the same problem

I have trouble with Bit defender. maybe have to search a bit and i'm lazy

the best thing in Kaspersky is that it allows you to save downloaded updates a different folder for backup. I wish other AV's have this feature too.

Well get KIS...its not very expensive. I bought it online via my debit card from the official website. Up and running in just 10 minutes.

no its not an issue, i use norton 2009, quite satisfied with it. was jus saying about BD.

Like i mentioned previously in this thread, no point in buying kaspersky products, coz there are enough promo's from time to time to get them for free. But ofc KIS maybe a lil more scarce.

Somehow i prefer commodo for firewall compared to KIS, if only they were compatible with each other, it would have made a great combo.
