My personal believe is Eset,It is worthy, however, avg is also a good, one may go for it but if the definitions are not upgraded on daily basis, then it may be any or even Eset or Bitdefender,it will fail to detect the latest spyware as well as worms.

    Hi,

I am currently using AVG right now and I haven't encountered any problems with with it. So I would say that it is really good.

Default Is AVG is a good Antivirus??

Ya , This anti virus software I personally used. With the help of this virus that can remove bad sector in our hard disk. also repair it. With the help of this software if there is any virus detected than its can clearly scan If possible than repair otherwise delete this file. It can also delete the win32 and Trojan horse type of virus.

    Hi!
friends AVG is not best antivirus,it can't detect all antivirus but kaspersky is the best antivirus.Kaspersky catch all antivirus and secured your system.

    I have used these:
    AVG
    Avira
    ESET NOD32
    Avast
    Kaspersky
    MSE
    McAfee

    And I recommend
    Kaspersky (1st priority)
    and then
    Avast or ESET NOD32.
I have faced situations when the nasty virus program was in front of me and all the other antivirus softwares except Kaspersky gave the result of No Virus Found on scanning.
The main issue with kaspersky is that it slows down your computer a little bit. What I do to cope up with it is that I keep it in disabled mode. It still prompts to scans usb drives on plugging in and works according to your needs.

Kaspersky is good but the avast/ESET are of no use, whatsoever.

Well, according to me, AVG, Kaspersky & Norton(however, it has an issue of slowing down the pc but otherwise it is the best AV program) are ideal AV programs and the rest all are of no use.

Never use AVG , avira and avast they are very bad and they less virus signatures compared to other Security providers . I would recommend to you to use Norton or kaspersky . You can download a free trial and then if u like it you can buy it

surprising results were found when i searched "differences between paid and free anti virus softwares".
most of the users in forums wrote"paid antivirus is just the free antivirus and firewalls stuff together" if thats the truth we can install all programs seperately and have more choices and control on our own computer.
I personally using all free antiviruses.

    Avast
    Spyware terminator
    Comodo firewall
    Winpetrol free edition.
    CCleaner(to delete junk)
    Revouninstaller free.

Apart from this i have a software which checks all c drive to search for cookies and malware. i think i am safe.

One does not require a plethora of products for protection. One condom is enough, if you will pardon my analogy.

I have been using ms security essentials for some time now without issues. It is very light on resources and free!!!

I tested various free softwares, and for me, the best is Avast. Never had an issue with it!

Try using comodo antivirus, it doesn't consume much resources and has stateful/on-access to paranoid level security. I run it on 10 year old compaq laptop with 256 MB SDRAM and very satisfied with the functionality, usability, etc. Try running it in training mode for a couple of weeks.

Anti virus must require for secure your computer against the virus. AVG is good anti virus but now days many highly viruses are occur so AVG is not powerful or strong to detect this type of viruses. I am using Quick Heal Anti-virus since 1 year and it is best anti-virus according to me therefore I strongly recommended to use quick heal. It is the best compare with other.

AVG is one of the best but has lack of options. You cannot install cracked softwares with this antivirus

I am using Bitdefender now. I bought it today and it was way cheaper then the others. I got Bitdefender total security 2013 3pc for 2 years for Rs1400. Cant beat that.

AVIRA or AVAST is a better option than AVG. But using a free realtime antyspyware (Superantispyware/Spybot Search & Destroy) and a free firewall (Zonealarm/Comodo) along with your Antivirus software will work best.

Also change your DNS to Norton DNS, and use Adblock plus extension to your browser.

I feel Avast is better option to AVG. Norton provides better security but with some problems. I have been using AVAST for last one year (free edition) and its doing reasonably well against the most common security threats.

I fully agree with you. After trying AVG (free), Kaspersky, E set,Trend micro, Quick heal, F secure, McAfee and Net Protector (NP AV) I finally settled on Norton for three years. However, when I tried Avast free version due to some norton renewal issue, I felt its a reasonably good protection and also provides good security while surfing on net by denying access to suspicious / malicious pages.

Its easy to install. Download it from Avast website, Install it and register with your email ID and get a free protection for one year.

FREE is FREE. So can compared with paid one. As some suggestion you got from forum member. I did not scroll all comment but would suggest you to go paid one if you are not advance user. Fellow like me can even surf internet and use system without a any antivirus software some time without AV , and hopefully without any infection . But HOW ? The Simple answer is- i know how to safe guard my my PC.
If you use FREE one then add some extra layer of protection like on demand scanner like Malwarebyte, Antispyware, Hitman Pro etc.

    Extensions and Plugins:

    Adblock
    Laspass
    Hmp.alert
    Wot

Use some sort of System Utility like- Advance system care, Galary Utilities , CCleaner etc

    Thanks

I might be new in the forum, but I work with software for a long time. Based on my experience, I can say that paid security software isn't better than freeware. They both use the same engine. However, if you purchased an antivirus program, you will get some extra features and utilities such a file shredder. If I need to be honest most of them are completely useless for ordinary users. My advice is to stick up with the free security software, unless you need some more extensive functionality. Keep in mind that underneath they both use the same engine and virus signatures.

AVG is no doubt a safe application but it is not the best one available. AVG got less detection rate when compared to Avast. Avast scans all downloads for viruses and it also offers anti-rootkit and anti-spyware which makes Avast the best option to try. I had been using AVG on my laptop and initially there were no issues. Later it started slowing down my PC and I had to switch over to Avast. Avast is quite light weight and works almost silent in the background.

My experience with AVG was horrible. The AVG is very passive, it could not solve the issue of my computer. When I install another antivirus, the issues were solved.

AVG have a malware that gets sneaked in your system so their Anti-virus will be impossible to uninstall. It is not worth it to install it. It use to be one of the best but now it is nothing but an annoying junk that refuses to be uninstall. It is also not game friendly. It interrupts my gaming because it always wanted to be manually updated. It is so annoying.

I guess I am the only one who has a good experience with AVG and let me guess you haven't tried a recent version of AVG but an old one. It works very good and keeps my system very. safe.

As far as I am concerned, I find AVG quite good. I have been using this antivirus since the time I bought my notebook, that is back in 2010. I never faced any problems with AVG. I completely trust this antivirus.

My experience with AVG Free was awful, it did not solve the present problems on my computer. I've heard that the paid version offers great features, but I have never confirmed. For Free version, I recommend the 360 total security, it is simply sensational.

360 security is the best computer security for both PC and Mobile devices. It updates quietly unlike the annoyance Avira was and it is easy to uninstall unlike damn AVG. AVG is like a clingy ex-girlfriend who is hard to get rid off.
