If you are using avg free it is a must to update it every now and then or else its of no use.

I tried Avira and now back to Avast. It's not detecting most virus unless I open/scan the files. Avast would detect the virus as soon they enters the computer after installing it. It shows popup advertisement to upgrade to premium after every update and annoying splash screen on startup. It can be disabled with registry hack. I didn't see any option change database updates to manual. And I also missed the intrusion detection feature of Avast.

For extra protection you can use Avast local proxy. Address: 127.0.0.1, Port: 12080

AVG is light and Hassle free. I would recommend Avast though. I have been using it for 5 years now, quite good. And if you have money kaspersky(750/- for 3). If you are using pirated one. they will blacklist quite frequently

AVG is better than avast 'cause it uses less system resources
But AVG free is not good
    Get AVG Internet security

    Hi
I was previously using Kaspersky 6 which is very best experience for me after that all versions of Kaspersky are not good.
Avast 5 not dedect autorun.inf virus after update that was also rejected and
now I am using Bit defender which is very best for me now
it has all options, it has all capabilities of a Anti-virus and a Internet Security program. I am satisfied with this

My personal believe is Eset,It is worthy, however, avg is also a good, one may go for it but if the definitions are not upgraded on daily basis, then it may be any or even Eset or Bitdefender,it will fail to detect the latest spyware as well as worms.

    Hi,

I am currently using AVG right now and I haven't encountered any problems with with it. So I would say that it is really good.

Default Is AVG is a good Antivirus??

Ya , This anti virus software I personally used. With the help of this virus that can remove bad sector in our hard disk. also repair it. With the help of this software if there is any virus detected than its can clearly scan If possible than repair otherwise delete this file. It can also delete the win32 and Trojan horse type of virus.

    I have used these:
    AVG
    Avira
    ESET NOD32
    Avast
    Kaspersky
    MSE
    McAfee

    And I recommend
    Kaspersky (1st priority)
    and then
    Avast or ESET NOD32.
I have faced situations when the nasty virus program was in front of me and all the other antivirus softwares except Kaspersky gave the result of No Virus Found on scanning.
The main issue with kaspersky is that it slows down your computer a little bit. What I do to cope up with it is that I keep it in disabled mode. It still prompts to scans usb drives on plugging in and works according to your needs.

Kaspersky is good but the avast/ESET are of no use, whatsoever.

Well, according to me, AVG, Kaspersky & Norton(however, it has an issue of slowing down the pc but otherwise it is the best AV program) are ideal AV programs and the rest all are of no use.

Never use AVG , avira and avast they are very bad and they less virus signatures compared to other Security providers . I would recommend to you to use Norton or kaspersky . You can download a free trial and then if u like it you can buy it

surprising results were found when i searched "differences between paid and free anti virus softwares".
most of the users in forums wrote"paid antivirus is just the free antivirus and firewalls stuff together" if thats the truth we can install all programs seperately and have more choices and control on our own computer.
I personally using all free antiviruses.

    Avast
    Spyware terminator
    Comodo firewall
    Winpetrol free edition.
    CCleaner(to delete junk)
    Revouninstaller free.

Apart from this i have a software which checks all c drive to search for cookies and malware. i think i am safe.
Antivirus company doesn't guarantee your protection if your service is paid.
