Default Can Internal IP be known?

    Yes they can be known.

Why then many says that you change IP ?
Just to save you from script kiddies.

Anyone not believing me can visit any hacking forums.

Going to post a guide on my blog ( when i will open it)on how to do that (The thing is you should be using *nix based OS it is much easier & a good one. I will show from ubuntu) & what step you should take to prevent yourself from becoming a victim though Till now I don't know what should I do.

Basically IP is of two types, static and dynamic. Static is a fixed IP and dynamic is an IP that changes every time you reconnect. Coming to the point, Internal IP cannot be known to outsiders i.e., other users outside your network. To know your internal IP, one needs to be in the same network or should have access to your system, either through a RAT or physically.

Changing IP is sometimes possible and sometimes is not possible, But you can route your traffic through other IPs so that you can't be traced back. In general, there is no way, one can hack your system just by knowing your IP.

I think I have a dynamic IP in place. I use Idea mobile broadband to access Internet. Dynamic IP sometimes create issues with certain sites which do not allow different IPs within a certain period of time. I mean they will just block your access for sometime, usually 12 hours, if there is a change in IP frequently. I wonder if there is a way to change back to old IP in that case? Some people are of the view that if you disconnect net and then reconnect the broadband it will solve the issue. But it never worked for me.

Is it possible to have a static IP in mobile broadband?

@webworld I don't think mobile service providers provide a static IP. As it is almost impossible to provide a static IP for every user. Dynamic IP is used because, the algorithm allots an IP to the new user(someone trying to connect) from a pool of IPs. That means they only need to allot IP for the users who are connected and want to connect. But if it is a static IP then everyone should have unique IP, which is impossible.

But you can ask your service provider whether they can allot a static IP for you. Usually, every service provider reserves some IP so that VIPs can use them. But, I don't think it is of less cost.

This is a very serious issue for a security conscious person. I am very serious about IP tracking and I always prefer dynamic IP address. Not because my PC will be hacked but to hide my location. I don't want anyone to just sneak on me and then find my location. Therefore, I have set up my PC in such a way that it keeps changing IP automatically.

It's very useful for me and for any person serious about privacy. However, an advanced hacker or programmer can still track IP address of a computer. But that's only possible in rare cases. In short IP addresses are not easily trackable for latest ISP's.
