This is all crap softwares, the default settings in windows always work fine. many people use it thinking that they will get HUGE booooost in net speed but its not so.
No matter what software you use, u will always get downlaod speed = bandwidth/8
Now as you have already messed with system, see if that TCP optimiser has RESTORE DEFAULT SETTINGS or something similar.

Don't worry TCP optimizer is good tool.
i tried it and had a boost of 30-40KBps.
see if that TCP optimiser has RESTORE DEFAULT SETTINGS or something similar. Else reinstall OS n this time try new..try windows 7. its awesome , 10x faster than XP or Vista and more Secure too.

In TCP Optimizer, File-> Restore Windows Default settings-> OK.
PS, In my tests, internet speed was much faster in windows default settings than after using TCPOptimizer.

Disabling some unimportant/optional components of Avast can reduce memory usage a little bit.
You can also do this after installing Avast by going On-Access Protection Control [Double click tray icon]-> Select component and click Terminate.
Yeah. but its negligible. Might help for Mind statisfaction
disabling any of the features didnt help much... though disabling the network shield was memory freedom... but still i think avast is slow for my comp..

What is double layered? Is it DVD writer?
HDD: SATA.

a dual core is a double core processor.
1 GB DDR1 RAM costs Rs, 1500 or more.
1 GB DDR2 RAM costs Rs, 900 or less.
yeah DDR 1 RAM costs more .......

I am wondering about the same. Unfortunately I have a Transcend 1GB 400 MHz RAM installed and I cannot upgrade it because of this.
I don't know the price of DDR3.
i hope there is no such ddr3 version out now...
now ddr1 1 gb ram is 1900 in market..
