I never got the chance to use VRDB, so don't know how useful it is. There is not separate VRDB application in Avast 5.0 Beta 2, but repair option is still available. The new features in it are really useful. And most importantly the memory usage is really low compared to the previous versions.

Avast 5.0 beta is expired now. It was only available for a limited period. The downloads are also disabled. Hope they release a stable version soon.

yeah. me too. because , the beta version still detects false positives.

Final version will be launched with launch of windows 7 on Oct 22.
Also this is the 1st AV, MS ever approved for its Windows Logo program inspite of being a BETA.
    Great work by Avast team.

No Way. Its the No 1 Light weight AV ever made with high detection rate. Your computer can be slow because of many reasons, like unwanted start-up, unwanted softwares you installed which has there services running in background even when you dont use them.
Kindly double check what you say. Because I have been using avast from last 3-4 years.
Kindly dont use the beta version.

the only difference is Home version gets lates updates after 1-2 days of Pro. So no big deal.

speakin of Avast 5 , Home version wont have a firewall and Pro will be having it. rest its same.
