AVG still. It maybe free but it does not mean its not that good. You just have to update it often of course.

I am using Avast Home Edition 4.8. It works fine for me! Using zone alarm firewall in addition to this.

Upgrade the version if possible. It would be better. 4.5 is much older. Currently, Avast is running on 4.8. Also 5.0 is in beta mode & 'll be available within short period of time.

Apart from AV, you should also protect your PC with Spybot, MalwareByte. Seems like these days Malware does more damage than the virus.

Norton 2010 is a great improvement over the earlier version but I must tell you that its still worthless. It does'nt detects viruses properly and if somehow it does then it does'nt removes them.

It will first say Virus detected and will give you 3 options: Remove or Clean, Quarntine and Delete File.

You will obviously go for 1st option and after some processing it will say Disinfection failed. Then you will go for 2nd option Quarantine: and after some processing it will say: Quarantine Failed. Then in the end you will choose the Delete File option at this Norton again fails. This is not the bad thing, the bad thing starts now: In the end when you're out of option it will display a big stupid message saying: "Your Computer is Still Infected" hahahahahahaha.
