    Default Ia MY PC safe ???

    Iam using avast 4.8 home edition as my antivirus for my win XP pc ....
    is avast safe enough ?? or do i have to go in for a paid antivir ??
    I keep updating the software or rather the software auto updates almost every 2 days
    though haven encountered any torjans yet i wanna know ??
    I used an outdated version of mac free 3 months back
    had torjans attacking and had to format my c drive !!
    i dont want to go through formatting and stuff again can u please help ?

    avast is cool and light weight.
    no need for paid.

    home use is secure.
    no formats in future if u keep it updated.

    Previously I had bad experience with avast, I've got regular updates, but somehow viruses spread into my pc, avast didn't detected it, but I can feel them from sluggishness & file getting deleted automatically, so I switched to Quick Heal, it is best AV I've ever used, detects almost all vulnerabilities in pc. I recommend it. I've used many AV but Quick Heal is best.

    Avira Antivir Personal Edition is better in detecting virus than Avast Home Edition. But I prefer Avast. Also use a firewall software like Zone Alarm Basic and block all unknown/unneeded connections to and from the system from extra protection.

    i think that ur ram will be atleast 1gb and have internet connection fast enough to download a small torrent in 1 hr.Use avg free version free updates free for life and trusted by me

    Apart from avast use an antispyware like spybot, adaware or malwarebytes. Use a good firewall like comodo or zonealarm.

    Quick Heal total security have AV, firewall, antispyware, pc tuner etc.
    But I don't use quick heal firewall.

    1(a).Yahoo ToolBar with Yahoo Antispy
    (b) Microsoft SecurityEssentials AV program ,

    should help.
    Both FREE.
    Spybot/Adware /AV applications will take more than 2 to 3 hours for initial check up.

    2 ONLine AV scanners also. available.

    3. Review your security settings in IE browser.

    4. Try this browser also. MyIE9

    5. Firefox will block all suspect site/s and will give warning page.

    I think spybot and malwarebytes is a must for protection from trojans and malware.
