Avast 5 is cool. I have been waiting for ever for the stable version. The new feature are really good.

I didn't like the way they show caution sign on the tray icon when virus definition updates are set to manual. It's confusing.

yeah avast 5 is cool.
but only one complain.the free AV does not have "Safe online Shopping" Feature.

I don't do online shopping or banking so not important to me. Besides in mu opinion, if you care that much about security it's best to use a paid version antivirus rather than relying on a freeware one.

I was just about to loose my faith in Avast. When I was using Avast 4.8 (up to date virus definion), my browser (Opera 10.20) got infected by some kind of virus scripts. All the results in Google search was to unrelated shady websites (according to WOT user-script). Everything went back to normal after I cleared the cache & cookies. In the old days Avast would have instantly detected such problems.

Have see if Avast 5 is good, especially since they have added/improved heuristics scan feature.

i use a paid antivirus(KIS) but when it expires i will need one.

Yeah I use kaspersky trial reset :S

It simply works

whts so special abt AVAST. & who said its king of AVs. dont wanna get into debate, but there is no thing like perfect security.

its BEST than any paid AV as far as detection rate is concerned. also light weight....
