Creating universal rescue USB flash drive

Well this thing is similar to the rescue disk. But here u can collect many rescue disks (Avira, Panda, KIS & many more) into one pen drive. Advantage of using pen drive is u can update the same pen drive over & over again with latest security updates. To create such pen drive all u need is tool like SARDU.

let me give here demo abt hot to create KIS bootable rescue pen drive. Coz KIS is the best thing, with highest success rate. I love Kaspersky.

so get ready.

1. download SARDU, unzip it to folder of ur choice.
for me its the following folder:
E:\Soft\SARDU Bootable USB Virus Scanner\SARDU_1.0.7.1



2. double click on sardu.exe & for first time click on the Lingua (menu) & choose language to English. it will ask to restart the, do it & from now onwards it will be always in english.

3. The main window of program is self explanatory. if u wanna download the ultimate boot CD ISO, then click on utility tab & find its name in list & click it. it will take u to the website, where u can download that ISO.

4. as i said i will stick to KIS ISO. click Kaspersky "KAV Rescue CD" & download it from the website opened. save it apart.

5. this ISO is bit old (23 Jun 2009 10:05:01 updated). for other ISOs this is not case. the avira always out the latest ISO.

6. I will teach u how to update the KAV ISO downloaded in step4. For this u must have KIS/KAV installed on ur system. I will show process for KIS 2010 installed on windows 7.

7.
a)Right click KIS icon, go to security+ & click creat rescue disk. the rescue disk wizard will appear. for first step here choose option Copy ISO image from local or network drive & click next.
b) it will ask for ISO path. click browse & choose the location in which u have saved the ISO downloaded in the Step4 above & click next. It will say wizard is updating necessary file. let it complete.
c) after completion, it will open the location where ISO created. Grab this ISO & put it in the folder ISO under SARDU_1.0.7.1 folder.
(for me its: E:\Soft\SARDU Bootable USB Virus Scanner\SARDU_1.0.7.1\ISO)

8. u can put any no of iso's u downloaded using SARDU in this ISO folder.

9. now take at least 1GB flash drive. plug it in. backup data, if any u need. Format the flash drive as FAT32..
keep pen drive plugged in.

10. now in main window of SARDU.exe click make bootable USB drive. it will take some time depending upon the no of ISOs & ISO size u placed in ISO folder.

11.After completion a popup will appear asking u if u haven;t connected the medium in which to write SARDU connect it now. press OK.

12. Browse to folder window will appear.Just check the path of the pendrive under my computers & select ok.

13. now writing the files to pen drive take lot of time. during the process the OS gives u message that SARDU.exe is not responding. ignore that message. at least w8 for 20-30 mins. (u can check if the writing process is done or not by viewing the pendrive LED status. if light blinking, the process is going on. for my transcend pend drive light is visible. )

14. now after the process is done successfully, in SARDU windows in the right bottom, the process successfully done message will appear.

VOILA.......u got ur bootable rescue pendrive.

reboot system from the pendrive (to do this just change first boot device from BIOS to USB or removal drive)

after booting successfully the following type of window will appear.



click menu anti virus & select Kaspersky rescue disk under it. after this it will take some time to load (u will see MSDOS screen with lots of things happening) wait untill GUI appears....when the GUI window appears select the plain rescue option & click enter.

after this a interface similar to windows will load. this is the Kaspersky rescue disk environment & u can scan anything u want from it.

Notes:
1.The above whole process is useful when u can't boot into ur system normally because of virus infection.
2. using the tools like ultimate boot CD, u can reset forgotten password of the windows OS.
