Question Unable to format or delete partition!!!

    Hi dudes,
I have 2 unused harddisk(s) in 1 week after i install the new software of AVIRA and Autorun Eater.

the result: My harddrives went bad. It will detect in BIOS. You can see the harddisk under all kind of harddisk management softwares, but the format or paritions won't work.

    error: HARDWARE ERROR.

Notes: other harddisk or the same kind of harddisk(s) are working properly.
    tried changing CPUs.
Tried Windows 98, XP, VISTA and Windows 7. no hope.

Does anyone is having any idea about it?

Backup your data on a USB drive, CD(s) or DVD(s) and then use a gParted LiveCD to format the partition. It is very important to check the MD5 checksum of the ISO file before burning, if it doesn't match try downloading again.

You could claim your hard disk warranty if it is new,
and yes mention your manufacturer here so that we can easily help you and yes hence this is a hardware issue get your hard drive changed!
If the other hard drives are working good then surely the hard disk is corrupted!
As it detects in bios so it's definitely your one hard disk is damaged!!

    try the following:
right click on My computer->click manage->go to disk management

see if you can locate you drive in that. You should be able to. Deleted that partition. Then format it. Give it a shot.

Hard drives have a pretty long period, he can easily RMA it without contacting the dealer. What brand is it?
