    Default Computer Virus

Well, i think most of them are aware of the term Virus, because their PC might have get infected with them, well we know certain things about virus, but not many things, so here i write article about it that can help you understand it and prevent it better.

Their are lot of types of Computer virus such as :-

    Virus
    Worms
    Malware
    Trojans
    Adware
    Spyware
    Rootikits

    etc etc etc.

I have made a small FAQ section, which will help you learn lot of things about these things.

    FAQ

    1)
    What exactly is Virus?
Virus is a small program which copy's itself from one file to another and also from one computer to another and they are also programed to erase data specially the registry files.

That is the reason, when you get affected with the virus, you get many errors regarding your system 32 dll files not found and other things.

The more time the Virus will be in your PC, the more infected your files will be because it will go on infecting and deleting system files etc which will ultimately cause damage to your System.

    2)
    What is Worm?
Worm is also a part of Virus, but it is not exactly one, their is a slight difference between both of them.

Worms have been programed to copy's (transfers) itself from one computer to another and that's its only work, they are not here to erase data or other things.

    3)

    What are Trojans?

Trojans are also a type of virus, but they are not here to delete or damage your system files.

Trojan Spies, password stealing Trojan Proxies that convert your computer into a spam distribution machine

Many times you might have noticed that sometimes when you chat on Yahoo Messenger, you get malicious links from your friend that click on it, sometimes our friend might not have sent it, this is the work of Trojans.

    4)

What is a DoS attack OR DDoS attack?

A Denial-of-Service (DoS) attack is designed to hinder or stop the normal functioning of a web site, server or other network resource.

I think lot of people here must be familiar with this term, because many times you get to know from the Web Masters, that site just recovered from Dos or DDos attacks etc.

Even websites like Yahoo and other big sites are vunralbe from them and i have heard that Yahoo is actually paying huge money to some of the hackers to stop doing it, because they know they can actually just hinder the whole functionality of the website (Sources - Discovery)

    5)

    What is PHISHING?

Phishing is bascally designed to trick you to disclose your login details on the fake websites which are similar to bank websites or other sites like Amazon etc.

My friend just went through those (Orkut) & his pass and username was hacked and then in his profile, the hacker gave links to many malicious websites etc.

    6)

    What is Spyware?

Spyware works similar to that of the Trojans.

They obtain the critical information i.e your passwords etc from your PC and sends it to the one who made them.

    7)

    What is Adware?

Adware is basically a program that re-directs you to certain websites and make pop-ups etc.

    8)

    What is Keylogger?

Keylogger is a program that records which keys you type i.e your passwords, usernames etc and sends it to those hackers who made ie.

Spyware, Trojans has their integrated keylogger.

    HOW TO PREVENT THEM

    1)

Many people get virus downloading unknown attachments from other people, don't download attachments from the people you are not aware of. Even nowadays websites like Yahoo first scans the attachments and then allows you to download for your safety.

    2)

Install reliable Anti-Virus, many of my friends have been tricked by installing some anti-virus which was named as Windows Anti-Virus 2010, they got tricked which later resulted in total format of his PC.

    3)

Always scan the pendrives etc before opening it, it might be possible that your PC does not have virus but your friend's PC does, so always scan those sources before opening them.

    TOP ANTI-VIRUS.

According to me here are the TOP 2 Anti-Virus available and they are simply the best.

Always get the latest updates for them to keep your PC safe.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU GET INFECTED BY VIRUS :-

Well, first of all scan your whole computer, if their are alot of virus, than its better and safer to install a new Windows rather than deleting them because their might be some chance of risk later.

BTW also, 99% of the Virus are for Windows, because Hackers makes virus of system which people uses the most, so yes the best way to be safe is use Linux

This was my article based on Computer Virus, please comment on it.

There is also something named as crimeware.

Crimeware is designed to perpetrate identity theft in order to access a computer user's online accounts at financial services companies and online retailers for the purpose of taking funds from those accounts or completing unauthorized transactions that enrich the thief controlling the crimeware.

Guys ,i have something to ask about virus. . .

Is there any virus which can cause computer to explode? Have you seen movie die hard 4, in starting ,after the upload of virus, when del key is pressed. . . The system explodes .
    . . . .

    Was that a fiction?
I came to know that we may cause processor to burn out by writing some assembly program . . By overclocking it and reducing speed of fan. . .

    Default Computer Virus

Another good thing to do would be running regular scans with your anti-virus, anti-malware and anti-spyware products. Using this wide array of products could detect most notorious infections that could be present on your computer.
