Dream Weaver is not easy to learn by yourself.

but the problem is i dont have time to take any courses or anything, therefore it leaves me no option.

What if you start from scratch and step by step, does that help even a bit, or is there no point trying!

You can use HTML-kit: HTML Kit for more than editing HTML
    It's my favorite!
You can also use any normal text-editor like Notepad++ or NoteTabLite.
This should be of more interest to you: Free HTML Editors, Web Page Builders, Web Editors and Web Site Builders (thefreecountry.com)

If it's for creating personal website, there is no need to use Dream Weaver. You can use a WYSIWYG HTML Editor (eg: Microsoft Front Page). Dream Weaver is very handy once you learn the basics.

Coffee Cup HTML editor has some bugs.
IDM Ultra Edit works good for me.
There are also many freeware programs..like Easy HTML Editor.

Rather than Dreamweaver, I prefer to use Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 inbuilt editor, or sometimes Netbeans inbuilt editor...

Dreamweaver is good one, but i prefer Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and will switch to Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. But you can use latest product of Microsoft named "Expression Blend". This is one of the greatest product i've seen. It will allow you to choose the basic structure of your website and template (just like blogs). once you are done with selection then it will create necessary pages for you, just you have to change minor details like company name etc..

Visual Studio IDE is great... Applications can be developed real fast... I've worked on it too... But the problem is that to use Visual Studio IDE you will have to get a Windows based server to host your site...

Recently I came across a nifty WYSIWYG HTML editor... KompoZer - Easy web authoring Its too good for beginners...

Dreamweaver is certainly daddy of all!

For java oriented projects (Desktop, mobile, web) I recommend Netbeans... Its too good... Sleek interface... Probably best free editor I've ever used... Excellent IDE for PHP too... What more you want? Oh yes...You can also develop C/C++ applications...
