Default windows 7 drivers for Dell Inspiron 15

Hi guys.. i recently got new laptop with windows vista basic..

I m planning to install windows 7 on it. The thing is i dont have drivers for windows 7. I checked for drivers on Dell.com but there are drivers available for vista and xp. Not for Windows 7.

What should i do>>> where can i get it??

I know windows 7 have most of all inbuild drivers but like some drivers specific i think will me for my lappy... what can be done about tht??

Hi, Windows 7 does have most of the drivers, it works almost out of the box. You can install Win 7 in a different folder, as a dual-boot, and try it. If it works, you can upgrade the existing Vista. In any case, it works till Mar 2010 only.So have that in mind before upgrading.

oh well i am also thinking same..

right now i have 3 partition..

C: drive is my current os.. vista
D: drive is recovery partition n
E:drive where i save my downloads.

how should i install now windows 7? i mean suppose i wanna install in E: drive what should i do?? a clean installation formatting E: and installing regularly?

than my system will automatically ask me for my boot option everytime i turn on my laptop?

i tried couple of time in other computers... the problem is than if i wanna boot vista it wont ... it will just directly switch to windows 7. it wont ask for operating system selection.. so tell me what n how should i work out in this matter..:12::12:

Simpy insert the CD and install the W7 in any drive you wish. It will automatically detect vista and create an option to choose between Vista and W7.

Windows 7 Drivers will be available to download after Microsoft releases the OS. As you have purchased the Computer recently, check out with Dell if they are providing free upgrade kit which should include OEM version of Windows 7 OS and its drivers.

u can use pen drive too.
just copy the files and not folder to ur pen drive and launch the setup from vista.

because u have a new laptop i think u can install ur vista drivers on windows 7 too.
and ya if ur windows vista is genuine then u can get windows 7 for free when it is released........

Just use the Windows update feature to update the drivers.......
While going for dual boot, always remember this..... OLDER OS SHOULD BE INSTALLED FIRST TO AVOID COMPLICATIONS.............

    eg. xp >> vista >> windows 7

If you are planning to instal ubuntu, do it after you instal any windows OS.....

    eg. xp >> vista >> windows 7 >> Ubuntu.......

My advice.... don't try XP on new systems.... lots of problems due to lack of driver support..... As far as possible, stick with your genuine OS.....

u r exactly right.. but the dumb ppl dont understand tht if they update with changed OS than they should update drivers too....
or either the laptop companies should provide with all OS drivers...

i have a HP printer.. which has drivers compatible for XP.. and now.. the problem is i just got new lappy.. with genuine windows 7 64 bit...

now one more problem is apart form OS .. 64 bit is the major problem..

though with minimal functional capabilities i was able to work with my printer on windows 7 or XP 32 bit... this ass 64 bit doesnt just work with my pronter...

ppl should make some patch to make it work..

but i doubt.. HP ppl are just dumb ass retard..

What drivers are you missing? I am sure by now all drivers are available.
