Direct X is not a software, it is a supporting files required by 3D application, like games, & sound etc.

DirectX is something that is bundled with Windows.

Yes klite pack is must.

Nokia pc suite samsung pc suite(cause i use both brands) paint and photoshop pinnacle video nero essentials switch sound converter(for compressing music to phone wma) allvideo converter. Mirc pidgin instantbird skype (for im) tally business version. Britannica . Thunderbird for email.
