Apart from . (Wireless High Definition Interface | WHDI), we have a Wireless HD, also known as WiHD, supported by Intel, NEC, LG, Samsung or Sony (latter supports WHDI as well) which was released earlier in 2008 by what is even more recent. However, it has more power because it can reach at 2 Gbits transfers and 5 Gbits. Unfortunately, includes encryption protocol DTCP (Digital Transmission Content Protection) to prevent copying of content.
There are high-definition players that allow streaming from PCs to video transfer to our televisions but the WiFi does not offer the same transport capacity. The wireless future requires a definitive standard by which we will save on media unless we want to save a particular document.
Whatever the standard for High Definition Wireless Transfer become, it's certain that we are going to witness advanced wireless speed eventually. Time will answer if the Wired Networks will become redundant.
While DRM in these technologies exist, won't you most likely still play a DivX?
